That means a volume of 10 µm^3. The mass of such a speck would be about 2 X 10^-11 gm, or 2 X 10^-14 kg. In other words, they found a tiny invisible speck that could only be seen with an electron Microscope, and it was putting out about 2 disintegrations/sec. If they had found millions of such specks, it might be of interest. |
