Don't use Windows, use Ubuntu instead. It is free, open source, doesn't need a firewall, doesn't need anti-virus, and is super stable. It is best to buy an install CD for $4 on ebay.

There has been a virus warning at the top of GLP for about 2 weeks now also on Daily mail site.

Not a page that says "Hell do not enter here" but a small banner at the top of the page. This has gone now as I write this.

I was getting loss of connection too but my lap top reconnects if I ask it to.

It is annoying.

I would not know who to report the banner to, so I just ignore it when it is there.

Sometimes it is just on some threads... not the main page.

Could a neighbor or somebody be tapping out your bandwidth?

yes about 15 min ago, booted off my fiber optic broadband.
So reverted to my phones 3G connection and that started going very slow.

im now back on the cable internet, i will do a test of both on speedtest.net

My browser has been repetitively freezing.
Just the browser, regardless if I use chrome or safari.
Nothing wrong with my mac. Everything else works fine.
Nothing will happen I wont be able to click on anything I can only close it by using
command+tab
When I open it again its fine until if freezes again

i have not moved my wifi dongle, i normally get around 50mbit down, and 5mbit up.

HIGHLY UNUSUAL 3G CELL SPEEDS, I OFTEN CHECK WITH THE SPEEDTEST APP ON MY PHONE.

Its registering only 2mbps down and 0.4 up.

This is a GRID wide slowdown, cellphone and fiberoptic.

everyone go check your speed and see if its upto par.

Have had some trouble today...I lost several pages of new info I was typing for a thread...When I was booted off line...my laptop also shut down...So all my work has to be redone!...Oh well...It is now

I experienced it last night, was posting on is the king sleeping thread and lost all internet connection for nearly 2 hours and 30 minutes, and my cable was cutoff aswell.

This is happening to me, too. It is not my provider, laptop, or a virus. I did all the work, and it is still happening. If I go offline for good, that is what is going on.

I truly believe so, too. That is what my internet provider said, also.
