I was called a racist today!

Why do you care what inferior races call you?
Most likely, you are superior to the name caller.

so, I am a food server.
I have been serving to an older couple, probably in their seventies or eighties, for the last week and a half or so.
We joke, we laugh, they eat, we have fun.
today, they are leaving, and the man says.

"Have fun all day"
"Don't take any wooden nickles!"
"Keep you hair blonde!"
"Stay away from all of the Indians!"

at that last comment, I look at his wife, with a "WTF???"
expression on my face..

She says, "He has dementia. He doesn't know what he's saying most of the time."

They leave.

A full blooded Native American motions me to their table.

"What the hell did that guy say about Native Americans?"

I tell him, he has dementia...he doesn't know what he's saying."

"Oh, he has dementia..."

"It is still too ugly, and not okay,
I don't care if he has dementia,
Is this a racist restaurant? Should we expect that kind of comment whenever we come in here?"

Consider this, if you where called a racist because your white than the individual who called you that judged you based on the color of your skin, thus making them a racist. Or they where trying to gult you into having sex with them to prove you're not racist.

Wake up. Other races hate you and your whiteness. They're not your friend.

Embrace your race and be proud of it. Don't be ashamed to be white. And don't apologize for it. And none of that makes someone a racist.

Is it hurtful.. At first yes, but see point one. They cannot hurt me if I DO NOT let them...

Doesn't make you a bad person. It's fine. The meaning has changed. I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume you didn't physically harm someone because of their race. I'll bet you didn't even deny someone their civil rights based on race.

By today's standards, discussing race or culture while simultaneously being white.. is racist. Therefore, there is nothing wrong with being racist.

The point is. this man would not let me do or say ANYTHING that might help bring calm and understanding to this situation. He was stuck in his rage.

(Oh, of course I am offended by racism. It is just such a common way for people to get their mad out, I pay it no more attention than a kidnergartner throwing a tantrum over someone calling them stupid. Toddlers try my patience too!)
