I would trust her opinion anytime. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 59071306 Amen. Experts would be wise to take some of her concern to heart. Those airports better shutdown soon. “I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.” - Frank Herbert For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the blah, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” Romans 1:16-17 You can't defend your home with an iPod, gaming console, or nabi. |

Do so. Goes a lot deeper than the Hot Zone by Preston. Her bottom line: "Experimental drugs and airport screenings will do nothing to stop this plague. If Ebola hits Lagos, we're in real trouble." Can anybody stop and listen to reason fast enough? Our leaders are asleep at the wheel. No, I disagree. They know EXACTLY what they are doing in my opinion. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 59071306 But a lot of journalists buy into the crap and fear of global warming based on the idea it's caused by human-generated carbon dioxide. So I'd have to know more about how Laurie treats topics like that before I'd know whether to trust her theories or not. |

It is WAY too late. You could shut down 1/3 of everything in the whole country and we would still struggle to contain what will show it's deadly face in the next 2 weeks, and again much larger in 30 days. God Bless you all. Good Luck, you will need it. |

She isn't just dropping by for an opinion...she has a superb handle on these issues and the points her book made are playing out, sadly, through present events. “I must not fear. This isn't happening. Luckily, Ebola hasn't been discovered within animal ecosystems outside of Africa, but the worry is that the disease spreads to a location that lacks a solid and well funded medical infrastructure. I don't believe the disease will rampage across the world in a blanket, exponential fashion. What we may see is a slow and controlled pandemic in places with quality health care, and burn outs and mass infection within densely populated zones in Africa...maybe maybe Asia. I share your sentiments and prayers for hope to all affected. “I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. The way I look at it is you have 2 options. 1 is get the virus and let it run its course and hope you survive, or 2 stay ways from people. Hospitals will be no help as every room will possible have 10 patients and nurses and doctors will be few as most will walk out. |
