My wifes sister was strapped on her grandmothers back while she worked in a rice patty to try and get enough food to eat so they all didnt starve to death for 10 hours a day. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 60851355 My goodness. I hope the grandmother put sunscreen on that poor baby. Sheesh, I hope they didn't lather that baby with toxic sunscreen. Put a bonnet on the baby with lightweight clothes to protect from the sun. |

One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one. Oh yeah, like you'd understand anyway. No Op you are correct the baby needs head support when very young, but as they grow they need to exercise their neck, by being able to hold it up themselves its healthy. By a certain age 3-4 months. |

This is full of ignorance. It's safer for the child to be on the caregiver's back than to be running around while he's mowing. Just think about that. Quoting: SeaCharger Baby carrying or 'babywearing' is the most natural, efficient way to transport your child, accomplish chores, and go about many normal daily routines with little ones. My partner and I have worn our child on our front, side, and back since she was born. I grocery shop with her on my back- she doesn't terrorize other shoppers or make the experience miserable by running all around or grabbing items off the shelf. Traveling is a cinch with your child on your back- no fuss getting through the airport or traveling to areas that are not stroller friendly. When wearing a a child properly, it is completely safe, comfortable and helps build attachment between child and caregiver. It also help you to respond to your child's needs quickly. Our child is four now, and we still wear her at festivals, on hikes, in crowded areas, at the zoo, downtown, etc. she's so comfortable that she even falls asleep on our backs, which means we don't have to interrupt our activities to get her home to take a nap. Just google 'babywearing benefits' :) That's why popular "wisdom" is that maybe this abuse. That's too much bonding going on there. |

Moran I have a riding mower. It has a seat switch. It's impossible for the deck to run while I am not sitting on the seat. So if the baby is attached to me, it could not get cut by the deck. |

Then we should not let kids ride bikes, skate board, ever be allowed in car, etc etc etc. Come on how stupid. Timing is Everything |

I have to vote No, not ok ever because its so cheap to have someone come mow the yard for you.. or have someone WATCH your child for you for a short time.. How would you know if your baby is crying? not getting heat exhaustion? Whether or not the baby is possibly staring at the sun... causing retinal damage.. I am a person who is all for personal liberties but there could be a low level of endangerment here.. its a helpless child.. come on man.. Infinity = Zero |

Maybe not the best idea but just decades ago people did worse without thinking about it and most kids ended up surviving..nowadays people want to put them in a protective bubble from the moment they're born, turning them into entitled pussies tbh |
