Everyone seems to be missing the point.
1. no one seems concerned about the babies age
2. no one seems concerned about the gas fumes, and it is not like a parent who has to do this.
3. the child's head was not supported at all in this back carrier
4. I really don't care what other people do, just would not choose to do this myself, and wondered what others thought.
5. I am all for babies carried on parents properly.

My other smoked and drank every day of pregnancy with me, as did every other mother of that era.
We had lead based paints, rode bikes without knee protection, head gear and elbow guards - yes as a matter of fact there were a few summers where my knees remained scabbed and bloody.
In my perspective this parent is doing better than my generations parent's did.
I'm pretty certain my father mowed around me as I played in the sand box eating the gifts of chocolate that the cats left in the sand....
