That’s the thing about progress; all the word means is “continued movement in the same direction.” If the direction was a bad idea to start with, or if it’s passed the point at which it still made sense, continuing to trudge blindly onward into the gathering dark may not be the best idea in the world. Break out of that mental straitjacket, and the range of possible futures broadens out immeasurably. John Michael Greer |

Besides even if it were so, radiation actually has many helpful qualities. It's no different than sunlight really! Think of them as friendly rays that want to help you feel better! |

Wild boars still roam the forests of Germany, where they are hunted for their meat, which is sold as a delicacy. But in recent tests by the state government of Saxony, more than one in three boars were found to give off such high levels of radiation that they are unfit for human consumption. Comment: Radioactive bacon. Kind of amusing how they are trying to blame it on Chernobyl. They did the same thing in Italy with the radioactive wild boar there. Meanwhile....back in DAILY reality land.... Last Edited by Useless Cookie Eater on 09/02/2014 10:11 AM |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 49398526 United Kingdom 09/15/2015 01:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | a comparison of the impacts of Chernobyl and Fukushima The impact of the Chernobyl nuclear accident on the 137Cs activities found in wild boars in Europe has been much higher than the impact of the Fukushima nuclear accident on wild boars in Japan. Although there is great variability within the 137Cs concentrations throughout the wild boar populations, some boars in southern Germany exhibit higher activity concentrations than the highest levels found in boars in Fukushima prefecture in Japan. Although we could prove that the radiocesium inventory in soil in southern Germany decreases constantly according to its effective half-live, the levels in boars appear to be much more persistent, if not constant. Currently, this oxymoron has not been fully resolved. [link to link.springer.com] |
