BUT...accepting that dinosaurs were still around a few thousand years ago opens a whole can of snakes. It shows them up as being wrong...but bigger than that it shows that what we know about our own civilisation only a few thousand years ago is just a tiny smidge, and total BS in some instances. And that leads to people following clues they'd rather we not follow, such as advanced civilisations in our past, global ones, contact with otherworldly beings and loads of other stuff considered "insane" despite the fact it's perfectly logical. Think how quickly our current civilisation sprung up, then compare it to how long we've been around as a species. Then see how quickly any sign of a civilisation can disappear from the face of the Earth. Lots of time for many civilisation cycles to come and disappear (not that some have completely disappeared). Plus, what's one of our first instincts in going off-world? To find other life, then remember how big the universe is. Then remember how old it is. It's not rocket science to realise life seeks out other life, and over the course of such a long time these life-forms got met...by many other types of life-form, just from the sheer amount of time had passed by. But of course, every scientist that pursues any of this usually gets treated like crap and gets no funding.

So what are they more committed to- what they believe already or whatever the truth of the evidence may indicate?

This no more proves dinosaurs are recent than insects preserved in amber proves they are recent.

Exceptional preservation does not equal recent-ness.

If something is totally cut off from oxygen it won't decay much. If you have something else binding to the organic mineral like iron, sugars, or salts that acts as a preservative.

Soooo...when can I try brontosaurus steak?

The pioneers used salt as a preservative on meat. It worked until it could be consumed - in the short term. I think science has examined enough dug up bodies that can be dated thru historical fact to know tissue may last thousands of years but that's about it. Why do you think everyone was freaking out over this find? Cause it blew the whole dino's lived millions of years ago out of the water.

I don't care if you believe in evolution or not, that's your business. What I object too is people lying and denying mankind his true history - what ever direction it takes.

So, Dino's lived thousands of years ago. Big deal. Lots of native peoples have oral histories saying the same thing. What's the problem?

The only problem I see for you is that it shoots yet another hole in evolution THEORY. If I held fast to that view I'd scramble for excuses as well.

What's so friggen wrong about a young earth view anyway? You can still be a heathen and believe in a young earth can't you? Just take the evidence for what it is and go with it.

It seems that every time something unusual pops up, or something that does not fit in with the current archeological time-frame and evolutionary map, it quickly gets dismissed as bogus....or worse, it disappears.

Dinos are fake

I disagree with this statement.

There are plenty of ancient cave drawings of dinosaurs of various kinds. In addition to this, plenty of lore about legitimate figures of history encountering "Dragons" and having to clear them out of conquered territories.

The twist is that we've been lulled into thinking of Dragons in only one way, but the old connotation of the word was more inclusive and broad.

There may still be dragons/Dinosaurs out there in very secluded areas.
