To the left of the moon last night, plasma ball, shape-shifting object - Anyone else see it?

I saw something pretty close to the Moon last night (Sept 5, since it's only 12:30am here). The sky looked pretty clear, plenty of stars but there was a very small, oblong cloud about an inch (from my POV) away from the Moon. I did think it was a bit odd, but it didn't look like anything other than a small, kind of egg-shaped, cloud. It was a little bit smaller than the Moon.

That's no moon....

That's a space station !
