Massive quake just hit near Guam 7.1!

They just downgraded it again to a 6.7. Before long the USGS will be reporting that nothing happened.

Some people said it was so massive that it was almost a 6.9..

Hafa Adai CowgirlK, nice to know we have a GLPer with ties to Guam. I might just take that trip to Jeff's Pirates Cove for a cold beer after this quake. Preliminary reports revealed sporadic power outages and a small land slide in Agana. No reported aftershocks at this time. I have my boat on standby in the event we tip over. LOL!

The landslide is due to this nonstop rain not the earthquake. Maybe all this ridiculous rain caused the plates to shift.

Thanks for the info on the landslide. The torrential rains over the last 5 days have been horrendous. The rain has been nonstop. Many fighter jets participating with Valiant Shield have been grounded due to the inclement weather. Very coincidental with the recent earthquake.

With having had a 6.7 /6.8 earthquake, isn't a bit strange that we haven't had a single aftershock yet? About 2 hours have passed.

Perhaps the military exercise going on around here had something to do with the rumble?

It's hard for me to work out timestamps from this site but how many hours ago was this? I work high up in a very tall building, east coast China, and felt a slight shake sensation a few hours ago and was thinking earthquake, but it didn't last very long.
