Don't say nothing will happen. Guam is only 50 km away from the beach. Have a friend there reporting on facebook. She said it was long.. She hasn't answered yet if there is damage in her area.

Your right about the depth though for a tsunami.

Naval Base Guam is a strategic U.S. naval base located on Apra Harbor, Guam. It is part of Joint Region Marianas, which is a Navy-controlled installation which was combined with Andersen Air Force Base in 2009.

Naval Base Guam is home of Commander Submarine Squadron 15, Coast Guard Sector Guam and Naval Special Warfare Unit One and supports 28 other tenant commands. It is the home base to dozens of Pacific Command, United States Pacific Fleet, Seventh Fleet, and Seabee units. [link to en.wikipedia.org]

Andersen Air Force Base (AFB) (IATA: UAM, ICAO: PGUA, FAA LID: UAM) is a United States Air Force (USAF) base located approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) northeast of Yigo near Agafo Gumas in the United States territory of Guam. Along with Naval Base Guam, Andersen AFB was placed under the command of Joint Region Marianas on October 1, 2009.[3] The two bases are about 30 miles away at opposite ends of the island. Administration offices for Joint Region Marianas are about half-way in between, at Nimitz Hill.[3]

The host unit at Andersen AFB is the 36th Wing (36 WG), assigned to the Pacific Air Forces Thirteenth Air Force. A non-flying wing, the 36 WG's mission is to provide support to deployed air and space forces of USAF and foreign air forces to Andersen, and to support tenant units assigned to the base.

Andersen AFB was established in 1944 as North Field and is named for Brigadier General James Roy Andersen (1904–1945). The 36th Wing commander is Brig. Gen. John Doucette. The Command Chief Master Sergeant is Chief Master Sergeant James Slisik. [link to en.wikipedia.org]

We are undergoing a rather large training exercise right now and just had a 7.1 quake.... but, we are still stable!

Cell Phones are out and a village is experiencing a power outage.
