Did the officer have reason to be concerned for his own safety?
I believe the cop said he was being questioned due to a 'seatbelt violation'. Very unsafe thing to do. That sounds like reason enough. I mean, if the guy doesn't care about his own safety, he's just as likely to put a bullet in the cops head.
Good call by the officer. Thinking ahead.

If it was just you and me talking, I would have smiled at your comments. However, I have been in this forum long enough to know that there are many people who miss obvious information and your subtle sarcasm would surely be missed. An unjustified police shooting is not a topic that should be misunderstood. These words triggered my response to you " put a bullet in the cops head" I hope you understand.
