Usually people pull their license out of their wallet, they don't turn from the cop and go digging for it in their car seat.
I can understand how a cop in high alert mode could think he was going in his car to grab a gun.
Is the cop at fault in this scenario? Yeah, he was quick to judge but I feel the cop's action is within reason.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3042112 In Massachusetts, it's always, "License and registration, please" and we always reach across to out glove compartment either before the cop comes to the window, so we're ready, or when he's asking us---because our registrations are in the glove compartment. According to this NC trooper, everyone in Massachusetts pulled over should be shot now. Quoting: ebull Massachusetts is one of the most controlled states in the union. Do any of you even know what a gun looks like in real life if the cops aren't pointing one at you? You had the FAKE bombing in Boston and you allowed the cops to treat you like you were living in Nazi Germany. "Papers please" indeed! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21731639
