NASA is so transparent. We were taught in the not to distant past the Meteors are just tiny pieces of rock. Now an oppsie. Threats to earth. A perfect explanation to the question, why are fireball being seen in several States and more reports are coming in. We found an enemy.

How can discovering an Asteroid Belt be responsible for more frequent strikes? Knowing its there doesn't increase the chances of a strike.

Or to the NASA statement that there will be 400 impacts between 2017 and 2113?
I didn't find any results (of course a lot of woo-woo sites pop up).

The reality: Asteroid 2014 NZ64 has 399 near-Earth passes between 2017 and 2113.

Not a new asteroid belt - just one (1) new asteroid.
Not 400 impacts between 2017 and 2113 - just 399 passes between 2017 and 2113.

Or MAVEN is just much more advanced with a larger, more capable scientific payload (65kg of instruments) whereas the MOM mission is inexpensive because it uses a pre-existing satellite bus modified for the trip to Mars and a small 15 kg payload of fairly standard scientific instruments and cameras that aren't anything particularly fancy. MOM is a technology demonstrator, it isn't designed to really push the boundaries of our understanding of Mars. It's primary mission objective was just to prove that they could get to Mars and manage the mission. MAVEN is designed to expand our understanding of Martian atmospheric loss using cutting edge technology, including the most powerful ultraviolet spectrograph ever sent to another planet, a small and efficient quadrupole mass spectrometer (only 8.8 kg in mass and pulling only 22.6 watts), and other specialized instruments. They're really apples and oranges. One is a Nokia 2600, the other is next year's Samsung Galaxy S6.

The title of this thread is one of the most stupid ever.
It says . Fact that it is discovered will lead to strikes. So if it hadn't been discovered, nothing would have happened.

If they just discovered it, then that would not have any impact or increase.

We should have no difference in the amount of meteorites hitting earth compared to times in the past.

The strategy must be that as we cant see it, you can push any bullshit that people will believe.

All space research should stop receiving billions immediatley that tax payers could be using for personal bailouts or stopping wars.

Yes that is obvious. But 9X the cost, which is going to companies that are probably massively corrupt at the top, so that they can 'clean' money. Im sure if you can find out who makes what on Maven then you could find out more about where such manufacturing companies spend their $$.
