Brain. Hypercalcemia can interfere with the way your brain works, resulting in confusion, lethargy and fatigue.

Re: My mental breakdown
Calcium plaques in the brain have also been linked to Alzheimer disease..

Magnesium balances out hypercalcimia and puts the calcium back into your bones..

Holy shit! Thanks AC! I'd rather that than mental. Yeesh.

No Tums or Rolaids...

I just remember the doctor saying I had vitamin d deficiency and he gave me a week supply of a ridiculous dosage.

Could my experience simply be from this?

Re: My mental breakdown
Were you going through a period of significant internal growth during this time period? Perhaps experiencing synchronicities and grandiose thoughts/visions?

hmm
 Quoting: ANHEDONIC

What would you say to someone that was?

I can relate with OP but perhaps not on the same magnitude of severity.

But what you just said could easily have applied to me, I reckon.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20063747

I would say that it's not uncommon for individuals to experience some difficulty integrating those internal 'changes' and that growth. In the Transpersonal Psychology field they use the term 'spiritual emergence' to describe that process of consciousness expansion and that can bring about more acute episodes (periods) of disorientation & instability which is referred to as 'spiritual emergency'. If a person was struggling or needed some reassurrance, there are a good amount of texts on this subject matter that describe the nature of the process and what some individuals experience and have reported.
 Quoting: ANHEDONIC

I'm another user who experienced those things. Do you have any links that might cover such spiritual emergencies? Part of me wonders if I "just" went insane, another part is fairly confident something spiritual was truly involved.

Did you take something? I know a lot of people that had mental breakdowns with one does of mdma or lsd etc. Or did something happen super stressful at work? Somehow your serotonin system went haywire.

Don't remember dosage, will have to check later. Just remember the number being really high (5,000?) I don't know that number just popped into my head.

Yea I lived in a basement apt and i didn't get out much during the day- was taking online classes so glued to my laptop, only goin out at night, so I wasn't surprised when the doc said I had the deficiency

Definetly feels relevant...

I felt like I was growing and undergoing a major transformation...

And now I'm not sure if I reaped the full benefits of it...

It freaked me the fuck out fer sure

Re: My mental breakdown
So about 5 months ago something strange happened to me...

My brain broke.

I quit school with 3 weeks left.
I quit my band.
I left my wife.

I unplugged from the matrix...

Now I'm finally feeling better after months of hell and uncertainty.

I was homeless- sleeping in my car, camping in the woods, living off my years of preps...

I thought at first something or someone had taken over my mind...

I'm still not sure what happened.

My friends and family said they didn't recognize me during this time period.

All I can tell them is that I think I had a mental breakdown.

I feel like I had over stretched myself- I tried to do it all, and one day I woke up and felt that I couldn't do anything.

So what do u think? Mental breakdown or something more sinister?

That's okay, it's not a 'one shot deal' type of thing. Sometimes it gets to be too overwhelming for individuals at a certain time in their life and they may pull back from things for a bit and reimerse their perception in the physical world and away from their inner happenings/growth. When they're back in a better place mentally and when they're ready - they'll move forward again with the process. The difference-maker though is that you're more experienced based on what you already went through, and you won't get caught off-guard or be overwhelmed easily again for that very reason. If you explore some literature on spiritual awakening/emergence it can serve to be comforting/reassuring and to help familiarize yourself with what others have also reported going through & experiencing. I preferred to read the works of Transpersonal Psychologists who have both personal life experience with this subject matter and professional experience treating individuals reporting spiritual 'issues' - as they tend to take a more universal and objective 'approach' to the conceptualizing and describing the process as opposed to some individuals writing from a perspective more-influenced by a specific cultural upbringing or more influenced by a particular religious ideology....

Re: My mental breakdown
All of us who have gone from dreamer to awake in this dream have experienced long depression usually followed by a big collapse and/or suicide attempt.

Once you dig yourself out of this hole you either use the knowledge you gained from this experience to rise above all the sleeping people or you get buried by the undead hands.
Truth will ultimately prevail where there is pains to bring it to light.
