Mr. Jackal User ID: 119475 United States 07/19/2006 05:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Chinese LOVE Confucius....Do you know why? He made the 'worship' of the state as the greater good. All united for the Fatherland--no God...no religion. Billions of wonderfully maleable sheep, all placing their faith on the Nation and it's leaders... Interesting template!! People have a inherent drive to place their faith in something...anything. If it's not Buddha, or Jesus, it's a form of Government, etc... You can't eliminate the freedom of man to fill that inherent VOID. World leaders know this as fact. They will simply fill that void, in the future, with something a little more universal... These religious wars are 'planned' and once we are in the after-math of this new religion-based world war, we will gladly surrender our faith to the first salesman to come along... Problem--Reaction--solution. Truly great madness cannot be achieved without significant intelligence. -Henrik Tikkanen |

The Abolition movement started with the Quakers - Baptists, Methodists in both England and America. I posted the wikepedia history. Polygamy is FORBIDDEN in the New Testament for a leader in the church to be a polygamist. Segregation was abolished after the Civil Rights movement that started in the CHURCHES OF ALABAMA. The women's rights movement was pushed by the Christian Womens' Temperance Union, which is why the The Prohibition was also enacted immediately after women got the vote. =========== Do you guys know NOTHING about history? The church teaches that this goal can be achieved only as the reward for obedience and meekness. The church threatens the wrath of God and the torment of hell for those who dare to oppose its teaching. But Materialism liberates us, teaches us not to hope for happiness beyond the grave but to prize life on earth and strive always to improve it. Materialism restores to man his dignity and his intellectual integrity. Man is not a worm condemned to crawl in the dust, but a human being capable of mastering the forces of nature and making them serve him. Materialism compels faith in the human intellect, in the power of knowledge in man´s ability to fathom all the secrets of nature and to create a social system based upon reason and justice. Materialism´s faith is in man and his ability to transform the world by his own efforts. It is a philosophy in every essence optimistic, life-asserting, and radiant. It considers the struggle for progress as a moral obligation, and impossible without noble ideals that inspire men to struggle, to perform bold, creative work." |

Except women's rights, of course. Paul says women should be seen and not heard. you are confused about what Paul said. Consider this, there was no PA system in the 1st century. There were thousands of people crowding in to hear the teachings of the 'new' religion. Women were in the back of the crowd with the children, where it was noisy. If you read what Paul says, it is saying, 'tell the women not to shout to their husbands in the room. they want to know what was said, ask later and don't disturb the meeting.' So, what happened, is the women couldn't HEAR, and they would call out to their husbands saying, 'what did he say?' and they would yell back and forth. Then, it was a mess. So, Paul said, shut-up in the church. if you can't hear, talk about it at home. Don't turn the church meeting into a circus. =========== This has been used against Christianity for I don't know how long, has been abused by MEN to oppress women, but it is certainly not what was said. The problem with religious fundamentalism is it is guided by men with agendas of power. Quoting: Interdimensional warrior 5545I posted on an earlier page what 'fundamentalists' think of George Bush. Just because men with agendas of power choose to fake the fact that they are 'christians' doesn't mean that they are.
