I think you are getting two different terms mixed up:
Colonists
Christians.
They are NOT the same thing.

Quoting: ÆonYour article from wikipedia doesn't change my stance. The colonists were have-nots looking to have - not a Christian outlook on life.
In regards to your link, here is a quote that is apt:
In the book, A Christian Manifesto, Schaeffer writes, "There is no New Testament basis for a linking of church and state until Christ, the King returns."
Dominionism is a heresy. There have been many heresies in the Christian church, this is just another one of them. It is NOT the Christian Right, which is a voice for morality in today's world.
Mark my words, the Christian Right is about to completely dissolve, and much of it already has. They have reached their goal, which is of course, the eradication of abortion on demand. Already, there are women in the Democratic party who are conceding this battle. The Supreme Court has what it needs to defeat this blight.
Just like the social ills of previous generations: slavery, womens' rights, civil rights, Christians have lead the way in the right to life. History will prove again, that it was the right thing to do.
Now that we have what we want, you will see, there is no stomach to go after gays, it will NOT happen via the Church. We want to strengthen marriage, but will NOT oppress gays. There, another prediction.
What will us nosey, prosey, annoying Christians do with ourselves then? You'll see an increase in missionary work, disaster relief, helping the poor, etc.
