Re: 2nd hand contact inside hospital - for what it's worth...
Just talked with my brother who lives on the east side of Dallas. He is ex-military ( 20 years ), big rough tough type of guy. Have never heard him sound worried until today when speaking with him. Him and his wife have 2 teen age kids they yanked out of school (kids did not argue) yesterday. Said they will not be going back to school no matter what, going to home school now.
He said his survival tactics have kicked in ( anyone should know what that means ). He said they have heard *lock down * being hushed for fear of panic, which i believe. Also said that there is more than one being held in Texas not being talked about or made public. Makes sense cause this guy was a walking factory of spreading it. I know my brother and when he sounds scared or worried then i know it is time to listen.
I do not expect any one to listen or pay attention but still putting the info out in hopes one or two may heed it. As far as the flag wavers here or the in breds who like to rile things up.. save it i will not respond. My family and friends mean more to me than arguing with you type of idiots. As for anyone else with brains please get any info out on this you can. We as a nation are all in this together.

Thanks for your personal account, AC. You (or your brother) won't hear any criticism from me. Did your brother indicate whether he plans to shelter his family in place or head out of town? And whichever his choice was, the reason behind choosing as he did.

Ok, I live in a small town a couple hours from Dallas. I also belong to a web group of NE and E Texans who talk about primarily local news and scanner activity. One of the members (whom I do NOT know personally, just a fellow member of the group) posted about 15 hours ago the following (I'm keeping his name private, as he does not know I'm sharing this and I would not feel right including his name.):

I just found out my nephew, who is a nurse, is on lock down at Presby hospital in Dallas with the Ebola patient. Prayers would be greatly appreciated.

A few minutes ago, I PM'd him the following:

[Name], again, my prayers for your nephew and all others involved. Was wondering if you are in contact with him? Do you have any word of his safety? Precautions taken to keep him and any others there with him healthy? I don't know him or you, but am very worried for a fellow Texas caught up in this mess.

May God bless and be with your family.

His response, almost immediately:

He messaged me just a little while ago. They are being held at the Hospital. No one can leave or have personnel contact with any one out side. He says he is being very careful. I told him if things go south his father and I will come get him!

(Yes, I know the whole 'Uncle' thing, but at least it's some info)

I think the best case scenario is that these kids are not infected and this dude dies. The last thing we need is for this dude to survive here in the US and creating some mad scramble of sick people coming here thinking we can save them.

Right now they are staying put at home.I know him so i know there will be no one going on or the property and there will be no one leaving until things are a little bit clearer as to what is going on where. He knows routes to take to get out of there if need be. Their decision to stay for now is as he puts it, " this is our home but we will leave it if need be". I as well as anyone here can understand that. Keep posting info folks.

It wasn't me that mentioned Obama, it was the guy I was talking to. I included his entire statement.

This guy is scared and angry. If he wants to blame Obama and his policies, ok by me.

Besides, I don't think you'll find many in this neck of the woods who disagree with him.

I suspect your title for your thread is the only real thing about it; '2nd hand contact' is obviously your drunk uncle, and you should be ashamed of yourself if you are spreading fear and more

bsflag

about such a serious subject. Go back to trolling the Faux News sites gramma.

If this weren't such a serious situation, your post would have been funny. As for my uncle? I've got several and fortunately they live many states away. I have no idea as to their states of intoxication because I don't regularly talk with any of them. If it makes you feel better, though, several of them plant vegetable gardens in the summertime.

I think it's time you call them again and tell them to bring in their tomato plants from the garden. uhoh

Let's see, the original info came from a 'web group' and someone 'I do NOT know', and a 'nephew', which means the actual source to this nonsense lock-down story is THE UNKNOWN UNCLE!!! No need to take in the tomato plants, because this is all

bsflagbsflagbsflag

BTW, notice how the Unknown Uncle has not given us any updates?
