Yale Ebola Research Team Voluntarily Quarantined | |

(WTNH) – Two Yale University students will voluntarily sequester themselves for 21 days, when they return from West Africa where there is an Ebola outbreak. The Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases doctoral students traveled to Liberia on September 16th, to help help set up a computer system at the Liberian Ministry of Health. The computer system is mean to help the country monitor Ebola and develop protocols for contact tracing. The students worked only with administrative officials, and had no contact with Ebola patients. They are due to arrive back on Saturday October 4th. While the students are asymptomatic, they are closely monitoring their physical condition two times a day. They will quarantine themselves for 21 days before returning to work, and will report any developments of symptoms to Yale Health if they should develop. [link to wtnh.com] |
