Jude reminds them of what happens to people who are ungodly:

Jude 1:5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not
 Quoting: b4its2l8

Even the fallen angels don't escape God's wrath:

Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate...
 Quoting: b4its2l8

God has prepared and reserved a 'special' place for the fallen angels:

Jude 1:6....but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day
 Quoting: b4its2l8

There is controversy who the fallen angels are...

And what habitation they left.

From this author we get:

Angels who did not keep their proper domain: There is some measure of controversy about the identity of these particular angels. We only have two places in the Bible where it speaks of angels sinning. First, there was the original rebellion of some angels against God (Isaiah 14:12-14, Revelation 12:4). Secondly, there was the sin of the sons of God described in Genesis 6:1-2.

i. Genesis 6:1-2 is a controversial passage all on its own. It says, Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose. There is a significant debate as to if the sons of God are angelic beings, or just another way of saying “followers of God” among humans. Jude helps us answer this question.

Jude has some brutal words for those people who try to influence the church with their corrupt ways - comparing them to the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrha:

Jude 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh...

However, in these last days - it's much, much worse
You can choose God - or not..

But when things go bad - don't expect him to come running; if you choose to live without him.

Micah 7:2 The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.

Here's a commentary on 2 Timothy 3 and a comparison of men today:

We Are Living In the Last Days:

2 Timothy 3:1-5 .....'This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.'....

Another verse from the above commentary that gives us an idea where we are today:

Matthew 24:37-39 ...'But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.'

Do you see? The reason so many people are carrying on as normal is because they don't see the signs and they don't know what is about to happen to this world.

So they blindly carry on living as if nothing is going to happen, and these people will continue to live normal lives right up until the second coming of Jesus, at which point their lives will come to an abrupt end.

Signs of the End Times

The signs of the end times is something that all end time prophecy students look for to find out how close we are to the second coming of Christ Jesus. Even many non believers are looking into this issue now, which shows there are significant changes going on in our world today.

Many people are wondering what is happening with all these disasters, wars, worldwide economic woes, animal deaths and a general degredation in society. And the Bible has the answer. They are the signs that the end of the world as we know it is close...

Christ said Himself ... "So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors" (Matthew 24:33). We know that we cannot fix a date on the second coming of Jesus, but as the above Bible verse confirms, we CAN know when it is near, EVEN AT THE DOOR!! And the Bible signs have now been fulfilled like never before in all of history, showing we are the final generation before the return of Christ Jesus.

"Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." (Matthew 24:34)...

Taking that as our basis for what we can consider the worst case scenario for humans up til now - end times will be much, much worse:

Fog plunged Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Asia into darkness, day and night—for 18 months.

"For the sun gave forth its light without brightness, like the moon, during the whole year," wrote Byzantine historian Procopius. Temperatures in the summer of 536 fell 1.5°C to 2.5°C, initiating the coldest decade in the past 2300 years.

Snow fell that summer in China; crops failed; people starved. The Irish chronicles record "a failure of bread from the years 536–539." Then, in 541, bubonic plague struck the Roman port of Pelusium, in Egypt. What came to be called the Plague of Justinian spread rapidly, wiping out one-third to one-half of the population of the eastern Roman Empire and hastening its collapse, McCormick says.

In Matthew 24 - Jesus tells us the events that will take place during the tribulation.

Pretty much follows what happened In 536:

Mathew 24:7...there shall be famines, and pestilences in diverse places
 Quoting: b4its2l8

It won't be a handful of nations, but the entire earth:

Rev 6:8 ...fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
 Quoting: b4its2l8

Joel 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.

Exponential growth of human footprint on the planet may soon cause "the end".

Looking in the Book of Revelation I never find words like 'exponential growth' or 'ecological disaster'.

Just wondering why John forgot to mention that.

Some debate exists on what it means for days to be shortened:

Here's an interesting take on it.

Was the Lord meaning a literal shortening of time?

Small excerpt:

Events that change the earth:

Japan Earthquake

It’s hard for us to imagine events that can change the times, but they do happen. Recently, the day was shortened by the 8.9 mag earthquake in Japan when the earth’s rotation sped up by a microsecond.

The difference in the earth’s rotation around the sun to equate 5 less days in a year would be approx. 0.43 km/s or speed it up to 30.2 km/s.

We can already get an idea that the events spoken of in the Bible will be catastrophic on a global scale if we were to take the passage literally. Because the day was shortened by the earthquake, we assume that the number of days in a year was increased by a tiny amount, but what if it wasn’t?

It’s possible that the various changes on the planet caused by the earthquake affected the planet’s wobble, core configuration, magnetic field, or trajectory through space that could have had the opposite effect of speeding the earth’s course around the sun. Scientists are exploring the effects, but we have no way of knowing for certain....

BS it has always been happening. The fact is our communication flies faster nowadays. We are the most well-read generation ever.
 Quoting: My Fear

People for 2000 years have been incorrectly saying Jesus would return, or it's already happened.

Well - it couldn't have happened because the technology didn't exist. Until Now!!

You couldn't see something happening on the other side of the world - this passage below makes no sense to anyone living in Jesus time.

Only we today can understand the technology it takes for this to happen (Dan 12-Knowledge will increase):

Rev 13:9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall SEE their dead bodies three and an half days lie in the street. (KJV)

This says other people from other nations will SEE their dead bodies in the street.

The tech didn't exist for people to be in a FIELD or someone on a ROOF and both 'simultaneously' seeing something they should act on i.e. the antichrist STANDING in the temple.

Math 24:15 When ye therefore shall SEE the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

Question is - How are you going to SEE the antichrist stand in the temple from a field or rooftop without a mobile device?

Another question - when did we ever see anyone standing in the temple declaring he is god? (2 Thess 2)

Never!!
 Quoting: b4its2l8

Oh, if you only understood context.
Jesus was speaking to his Disciples, Hebrews, not to Gentiles, nor the World.
They were inquiring regarding the fulfillment of God's prophecies to Israel.

I noticed you conveniently skipped verse 16,
16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
Which squarely places the context, to those who are in Israel and what they will see.

Something that is not plainly mentioned is that the current age of technology ( age of the Gentiles ruling the World) will end first.
This is proven by Eze ch 39 and other passages.
39 9 Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out, kindle fires, and burn the weapons— the bucklers and shields, the bows and arrows, the clubs and spears. For seven years they will use them for fuel. 10 They will not gather wood from the countryside or cut it from the forests, for they will use the weapons for fuel. They will loot those who looted them and plunder those who plundered them, declares the Lord GOD.

Showing that there is definite lack of technology( back to burning wood for fuel in order to cook and heat with).
So no electricity or natural gas run appliances.
Also a lack military technology at this time, ( no tanks, planes, guns, etc).
So, no smart phones, video, etc! Sorry.

It must occur this way, in order to produce the power vacuum, for the anti Christ to rise to power, First in the Middle East, and then in the rest of the World.
Currently the Gentile, World powers( USA, Russia, etc) control the Middle East to prevent a major conflict or shift in power, Such as the Rise of the Anti Christ to power. So this must change also before any thing else can happen

First four seal judgements: 4 horses of apocalypse start journey -

1) NWO-globalization - take over by deception; Math 24, see that no man deceives you.

2) war(terrorism?) - Math 24, nation will rise against nation.

3) price of food soars, - Math 24, there will be famine in diverse places.

4) 1/4 earth men dies (hunger, pestilence, catastrophes, etc) - Math 24, disease; famine; earthquakes.

Next - seals 5, 6 & 7

5) Christians are killed for believing in Jesus - Math 24, many will be killed for my namesake

6) Great earthquake, sun blackens, moon red, many signs in sky takes place; men hide, for the great day of his wrath is come - Matthew 24, what Jesus calls the Great Tribulation starts with this seal.

Small Excerpt:

The final crisis

Jesus at this point turns to local events that will lead to worldwide upheaval. He says, “When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near” (Luke 21:20). This He declares in conjunction with “the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (Matthew 24:15; compare Mark 13:14).

Daniel had foretold a foreign invasion of the Holy Land and the placement of the abomination of desolation within the temple complex (Daniel 11:31). If we follow the historical fulfillment of the Daniel 11 prophecy, it becomes apparent that this was accomplished under the Syrian invader Antiochus Epiphanes, who caused a pagan defilement of the temple around 168 B.C.

Yet this was long before Jesus spoke
. So Jesus must have been declaring that this past fulfillment of Daniel’s prophecy was not a complete fulfillment—that the past event was a prototype or forerunner of something still to come.

More from the above author:

Small excerpt:

Christ’s Olivet prophecy progresses, in concert with the book of Revelation, toward the final events before His return. He said, “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect” (Matthew 24:24). Even the elect, the people of God who “keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ” (Revelation 12:17), will be susceptible to this great deception.

The apostle Paul spoke of this time of deception in 2 Thessalonians 2. This prophecy of a “man of sin” to arise before Christ’s return stands out within Paul’s writings.

This end-time deception is led by a figure “who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped” and who will even sit “in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.”...

A final great deception to come

Christ’s prophecy of false teachers coming in His name, claiming He is the Christ but deceiving many, indeed came to pass. Church history is largely a story of teachings and practices of the counterfeit Christianity, with its system of beliefs and practices fundamentally different from what the early New Testament Church believed and taught. The story of those who held to or at times recaptured the essence of true Christianity is not easy to follow through history.

Today those who strive to practice the teachings that Christ put into His Church are few in comparison to the thousands of churches that call themselves Christian but are in fact descendants of the counterfeit movement begun in the first century....

God always saves a remnant - no matter how horrendous things are:

Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation...

22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
 Quoting: b4its2l8

22 And except those days should be shortened...

[link to judeochristianchurch.com]
 Quoting: b4its2l8

Here we have the length of the tribulation being cut short:

Biblegateway: AMP

And if those days [of tribulation] had not been cut short, no human life would be saved; but for the sake of the elect (God’s chosen ones) those days will be shortened.
 Quoting: b4its2l8

To shorten does Not necessarily mean to shorten at the end of tribulation. It could also mean to shorten at the beginning of tribulation.
 Quoting: b4its2l8

Matthew 24:22 (B) but (for the elect's sake) those days shall be shortened.

So we know from this passage not everyone was killed: Many of the very elect were kept alive...

So who are the elect referred to here?
You can choose God - or not..
