the Amish may not have autism but they have a bunch of genetic diseases including dwarfism

I live in PA and every child is required to have a Phenylketonuria test when born because of the prevalence amongst the Amish

Another anti-vaccine lie rises zombie-like from the grave.

This moldy old fable was a lie promoted by not-a-scientist Dan Olmsted - former editor for United Press International, owned by Sun Myung Moon's Unification Church, and now owner and editor of the loony anti-vaccine site - Age of Autism.
It has been refuted over and over yet the anti-vaccinationists will not let a good lie die and continue to resurrect it.
As others have posted earlier, this article by Seth Mnookin gives a general refutation:

"But Olmsted never visited the cryptically-named Clinic for Special Children in Strasburg, where doctors treat dozens of children who exhibit autistic behavior."

"“The idea that the Amish do not vaccinate their children is untrue,” says Dr. Kevin Strauss, MD, a pediatrician at the CSC. “We run a weekly vaccination clinic and it’s very busy.”"

"Strauss also sees plenty of Amish children showing symptoms of autism. “Autism isn’t a diagnosis – it’s a description of behavior. We see autistic behaviors along with seizure disorders or mental retardation or a genetic disorder, where the autism is part of a more complicated clinical spectrum.” "

Gee, it looks like the anti-vaccine loons are lying again.
The reader should ask why it is that they seem to constantly lie and misrepresent the facts treating the readers as if they were ignorant fools.

Let the furious feeble begin to foam at the mouth but it doesn't change the fact that the Amish obviously do vaccinate and this trope is a blatant lie.

Can they prove whether or not they were following the CDC schedule? Do their 2 month old infants go in for 6 shots at one time?

Any level headed parent has to question the risk of 6 shots at once, since there is no way to know which one could cause the reaction, if a reaction takes place. Sadly, it is too late for some.

A lot of pediatricians are questioning the "six shots at once" now as well and space them out.

Re: The Amish don't get autism and they don't get vaccinations
Wow, lots of ignorance around.

Some Amish do:
Get vaccines
Get cancer (my neighbors father has it right now)
Have heart problems/disease (my other neighbors mom just died from heart issues, she was 80)
Eat GMO foods
Have children on the Autism spectrum. I know of one adult who is definitely on the spectrum!
Get sonograms. My neighbor learned that her last son most likely had Down's syndrome via a sonogram. She also delivered all of her babies in a hospital, and had C sections.

Didnt see this mentioned, but they also pay income and property taxes!

I know of Amish women who go to spas and gyms. They sneak to do it because their order is not permissive but they do it.

Have your new born go to a petting zoo before three months and don't hose them down 10 seconds after.

Do not overdue the hand sanitizers in life on kiddies, the body needs to develop immunities early on.

Let the kids play in the dirt and eat their mud pie…..not the end of the world.
I'm only human, it's my biggest flaw.

We must all realize a sink a chair and a pillow are all luxuries of home and a soldiers helmet takes the place of all three.

My post doesn't address other anti-vaccination delusions and lies, just the one that underpins this thread.
Please try to stay on topic.

Is the statement that is the premise for this thread true or a lie?

Do you care that it is a lie or do you approve of the message because it promotes your delusion so even if it is a lie it is good?

For someone who jumps right into insults like "promotes your delusion", you sure made your own bias clear as day.

Maybe if you weren't so damn rude, then you would be worth listening to.

Everything I said is the truth, it IS risky to give 6 shots at once to infants and YES some do have reactions that include seizures and Encephalopathy among other things, AS STATED in the inserts no one reads.

Re: The Amish don't get autism and they don't get vaccinations
the Amish don't do lots of stuff the general population does including tattoos, drugs, junk food, store bought synthetic room scents, cosmetics, screw alot of partners, sit in front of a tv, etc.

generally they are healthier. I do believe vaccines have crap in them we do not want and it is really stupid to dose up babies especially the heavy rates the gov wants too.

Also, injecting that crap right into the blood? Screw the us govt. not everything they do is in the individual's best interest.

Obviously you don't live by any Amish. Believe me their grocery carts are fill with Little Debbie's, chips, cookies, you name it, and you should see the tracks home from the bars on Saturday nights, the only thing that keep them safe is that their horses know the way home.

And they still get DUI's when they pass out in the buggies!!lol!! And to the moran, Amish are not Dutch, the are of mostly German decent. I live in a growing area of Amish; Trumbull, Geauga and Portage counties in OH. Some of these posts are pretty funny!!

Good point! Also it was admitted to not long ago that vaccines had been given that expired and also not being shaken before use. When not shaken, the further down the vial, the more concentrate. And expired, who knows what harm that can do!!! And more than one at a time just seems a dangerous mix. I have heard also to never vaccinate in winter due to lack of vitamin c from the sun. Seems like Russian roulette in needle form!

Autism wouldn't manifest as that much of a problem for an Amish guy. They lead steady predictable lives. If it's not a problem it won't be diagnosed.

Maybe you've never been up close with an autistic person. That would explain your lame remark.
Yes, I did cure my Stage 4 cancer in two weeks when I was 48. I also reversed my chronic kidney disease (glomerulonephritis) when I was 25. In neither case were any medical treatments involved.

Re: The Amish don't get autism and they don't get vaccinations
autism is measles virus deep in brain.

MMR vaccine contains measles and causes autism

those low on glutathione at the time of vaccrine get autism

many kids are given tylenol for headaches from MMR vaccine, tylenol lowers glutathione so it is more likey that the kid will get autism

boys are lower in glutathione than girls that's why they get autism more often

quit eating junk for 5 years and the measles will clear out by itself

brain will return to normal the measles does no permanent damage

the makes of MMR vacine should be tried and hung
