A theory that states A is superior and B is inferior is a doomed theory.

There are many examples of cooperative behaviour in animals and humans, even to the point of self sacrifice. These behaviours must have been genetically selected for and therefore must confer a genetic advantage to that individuals genes, maybe for that individual himself or for genetically closely related individuals. There have been a number of studies on this phenomenon in recent years.

for species to survive it requires reproduction.

as for survival of the fittest, it means the best suited to the current environment are "fit" and are more likely to reproduce. if there is a mutation that makes them more likely to survive and reproduce then they are more fit than the others without the mutation. it has nothing to do with power or athleticism / fat / healthy.

That is their problem if they want to take darwin out of context. You don't hide a natural part of the world and life to protect peoples feelings.

We did not come from todays apes. So why would you need to act like one of them? Bonobos are less violent than humans, they make love not war, while chimps make war not love. Well first off, survival of the fittest does not always hold true but to answer your question yes. Several people have used the theory to be assholes. Hitler used it to justify mass genocide just to name one.
