Staring into the Abyss
As Israeli forces gather at Lebanon's border we stare into an dismal abyss.

The border is not just a physical boundry seperating soverign nation states. It is also a border between limited military adventurism and global war.

Make no mistake. Once Israeli tanks roll across that line we will enter a new historical era much like what happened after 9/11.

So, now we stand at the abyss of chaos staring into the dark depths of dante's inferno.

Will we make that fateful plunge? We soon shall know.

Weren't those two soldiers captured inside Lebanon's borders? Methinks you're waiting for something which has already happened...

The militant group Hezbollah captured two Israeli soldiers during clashes Wednesday across the border in southern Lebanon, prompting a swift reaction from Israel, which sent ground forces into its neighbor to look for them.

Depending on which side you believe Israel says they where captured on the Israeli side. How true that is we can't really be sure.

I agree. Israel has been massing for days for the ground invasion. When those tanks start to roll, it's gonna be a whole new ballgame.

As we stare into the abyss, I'm reminded of a comment some GLP'r made days ago. They wrote it might be best to have this all out now, rather than later when all parties might have nuclear weapons. There might be some twisted sense to that, that might be realized by the leaders of the area. Do ya get it on now with a conventional battle? Or 5 or 10 years from now, when the region could be turned into a nuclear wasteland? People say things are f#cked up here in the US, just look at those idiots over there!

Re: Staring into the Abyss
OP, I think you're overreacting. If 9/11 wasn't enough to ignite WW3 then I sincerely doubt that this crisis in Lebanon would be either.
