Game changer is to mild a phrase! This is a paradigm shift for mankind.

You know what's interesting is this news is comes out as the X-37B is landing after two years in space circling the globe. I think that craft had one of these reactors on it.

Do a quick google search for NERVA rockets. Instead of fission, use fusion.
And the new rocket that NASA validated that provides thrust from microwave radiation. Well, you have all the electricity you need for making microwaves.

But what about that cold fusion stuff that was so hip not so long ago?

Its fusion. hydrogen Fusion.
Not uranium
Not fission.
Its clean, its abundant. Its what the sun does.
No nuclear waste that is stored underground for millions of years.

Cold fusion was the idea to fuse 4 hydrogen atoms to helium without huge amounts of energy into the system. Hence the word cold. But it has to create a large amount of heat to turn a steam turbine to make electricity.

This probably uses energy to start the process but after that it obviously creates more than was put into it. Otherwise you would not have a net increase in energy. So it surpasses the break even point.

And this is lockheed. They are not going away anytime soon.

..of course they're going to destroy it on their way out.

This is another warning from "them" to "us" that we better stay in line.

This is incredible technology if true.

If used for good, we could have incredible advances in how we use / generate electricity, and it could even power us to the stars!

If used for evil, well, imagine what nearly limitless power could do for psychos who are looking to wage war and maintain control over a restless populace....

They wouldn't even necessarily have to convince us via propaganda to do their bidding. They wouldn't have to care about our hearts and minds.

They could literally build a starship and threaten the entire earth from space to do their bidding, or else.

Hopefully this technology won't end up in the wrong hands.

Oh wait, Lockheed Martin develops technology for the US government...
