Quoting: Anonymous Coward 64276045 It's not local... I always wonder how well some of our comedy travels and translates as some of it is drenched in Britishness, great to see that at least one American knows it. To all those who haven't seen any LoG you're missing quite the treat. |

To all those who haven't seen any LoG you're missing quite the treat. The sick, sad truth is that American's are too stupid to appreciate Brit comedy. I was raised on Python, and turned my wife onto LOG and Little Britain. We're both sorta geniuses in our fields. Do we have any friends who understand and appreciate the sheer awesomeness of Brit TV comedy? (cough) Computer says "No". |

Us Brits suck at a lot of stuff in life, but I reckon comedy we do ok with, you gotta laugh its a coping mechanism for the sometimes sucky world we live in. Sometimes our comedy is a bit hit and miss though, there seems to be a lot of dross this last decade for instance, maybe we're losing our touch with it a bit in recent years. But when we do comedy good its usually really good, from the more gentler stuff like Dad's Army, Keeping Up Appearances, Hi-De-Hi, and Allo Allo, through to the absolute classics Only Fools and Horses, One Foot In The Grave, through to the more modern stuff like any Alan Partridge stuff, The Fast Show, The Office etc, Smack The Pony, Miranda. My favourite stuff though is the more surreal out there stuff from Python, Vic & Bob, Big Train and League of Gentlemen, the more ridiculous the better! |
