Scary. From the age of 12 to 45, you are harassed by men who think they have a right to have sex with you. If you politely refuse due to being underage, Christian, married, not a whore, they react angrily. You spent all those decades being severely conscious of everything you say or do in an effort to avoid this treatment. You live with a constant underlying fear of attack. You know you can't walk into a parking garage by yourself at night, or jog around your neighborhood. In the best of circumstances, your actions are curtailed by the fear of attack. You deal with the emotional baggage of men who got jilted by some girl in junior high school and now have a grudge against all women. If you succeed at work, people will accuse you of screwing the boss. You are harmed by women who choose the path of gold-diggers or Feminazis because their behavior is used as a weapon against you. Women turn out to be your worst enemy. They are competitive and destructive. Whatever you do is wrong. If you work, you are the downfall of civilization; if you want to be a stay-home wife and mother, you are worse than Hitler. The worst part is that you will never be seen as a real human being. You are a vagina as long as you are young and attractive. After that, you are invisible and inconvenient. No one will ever care about what you think or feel.

Now that you're done typing, how about rounding up some sandwiches for me and the boys?
Just kidding - I would not want to be a woman under any circumstances. They are manipulated way more than men.

Please do not let this reply dictate what it should be like. It is nothing like that at all. Women can get out of and past the limited gender roles that society somehow tries to impose. We are not bound to accept any of that as necessary. Cultivate good relationships based upon common interests and experiences, both ones you have had and ones you desire, with both genders. Cross out of your comfort margins age or generation wise and learn from all both younger and older and be genuinely interested in how they have lived and benefited. If you care to share with others how they see things and listen and learn you will never be unwanted in most social groups. Develop background across a wide spectrum of interests and keep looking for more as there is so very much to enjoy and out of that you share with others the amazing array of things to experience. I am never without someone to discuss things and never have been.

^This.
We're also expected to work a job, part-or-full time, take care of the house work and kids (a full-time job on it's own), and look perfect (read the above post where someone state an ooze-something-troll with a moldy vagina or something along those lines).
 Quoting: Baroness

As bad as all that stuff sounds, all if it can be mitigated. It is up to the person to not be a victim. As soon as that state of mind is reached, freedom is close.

Most of the above post seems to focus on what others or how others perceive you or react to you. If your self worth is based on that, life will suck. Male or female. Make your self worth what you value, and life is good. No more of others judgment effecting your psyche.

Yes, those are negatives, but if you're smart you learn to put yourself in safer situations to by pass most of that. You also forgot the menstral cycle which is a pain in the ass.

But, I have to say that even with all that, there are some very good things about being a woman. I love that we are able to express our emotions and not stuff them down in fear of not being seen as girly. Men have so much more rules of behavior if they want to appear as masculine. They learn early to stuff their emotions and suck it up. And I really think this causes emotional pain which they aren't even allowed to express for fear of being labeled feminine. Expectations for being the breadwinner and being successful are put on them heavily and not so much for women. They are expected to be tough and strong, even when they are just as frightened as we are. I think they need a lot more hugs than they get:)

Overall, I prefer being female. I have a hard enough time fulfilling the expectations place on me by my family. I think that would be magnified if I were male.

We do not learn from history because our studies are brief and prejudiced. In a surprising manner, 250 years emerges as the average length of national greatness. This average has not varied for 3,000years. The stages of the rise and fall of great nations seem to be:
The Age of Pioneers , The Age of Conquests ,The Age of Commerce ,The Age of Affluence ,The Age of Intellect ,The Age of Decadence.
Decadence is marked by: Defensiveness, Pessimism, Materialism,Frivolity An influx of foreigners The Welfare State A weakening of religion. Decadence is due to: Too long a period of wealth and power, Selfishness Love of money ,The loss of a sense of duty.
The life histories of great states are amazingly similar, and are due to internal factors. Their falls are diverse, because they are largely the result of external causes. - Sir John Glubb The Fate of Empires
We are at the end of the Age of Decadence heading into COLLAPSE
