Reminds me of a scene out of Jericho where the only channel that could be watched was DHS's... then the EMP struck.

I am in Atlanta also and it is the same for me. It won't let me change the channel it's stuck on NBC.

I'm in Georgia. Regular local news cut-ins didn't mention anything.

If the message was from the Fed Gov / the White House / President, local TV stations would likely not know anything anyway.

I think the way that system is set up is that "they" just take over the station and air whatever they want with no warning of the content (due to the immediate emergency or timeliness of the issue - kind of like "breaking news")

In all likeliness, they were testing the lines for a real announcement later.
Not like one of those regularly scheduled interruptions of broadcasts, but
a live test before a huge announcement.

If this is true, (and several people have conformed it already), folks,
We may be getting mega doom this morning!

Seems like it would make it pretty clear that it's a test, considering we're on very high alert, here, anyway. If it's not real, they just scared the hell out of a lot of people who have never seen a real activation of the EAS in their lifetimes.

I think folks need to get a life anyways and stop watching TV.

An emergency notification with no emergency?

I'm getting a message that says the President has requested that we watch our local station. It's force tuned to NBC and we can't change it. I don't see any emergencies, just the Today show. How do I shut this off? thanks.
