WEATHER - Massive storm to slam Pacific Northwest - More intense than Sandy
Looks like we are setting up for a fun winter. Farmers Almanac lied to me!!! Mild and dry?? Not according to this

An explosive storm surpassing the intensity of 2012's Superstorm Sandy. The storm potentially could be one of the most intensive to ever hit the North Pacific.

Not just the northwest, but the whole fam damnily!

Typhoon Nuri, which was one of the two strongest storms on Earth so far this year, is going to help bring another shot of cold, Arctic air to the Midwest and East Coast later this week.

Itís no longer a tropical system now, but itís poised to become the strongest extra-tropical cyclone ever in the North Pacific ocean.

Never heard of an extra tropical cyclone, but sounds interesting!!

I like the end of the story - The Pacific Northwest will get a really nice weekend out of this with sunny skies Friday & Saturday and possibly Sunday. Temperatures will climb into the 60s Saturday.cool2

well, my thermo says that it is 61 here - but it sure doesn't look or feel like it ... I just turned on the heat (it was warmer when I got up at dawn) because we have heavy (blue/grey) cloud coverage and it doesn't look like ti will get up to the predicted 68 degrees - but thank the gods, there is no wind ... btw I am on the Front range of the Rockies in CO

Re: WEATHER - Massive storm to slam Pacific Northwest - More intense than Sandy
Next week is going to be very interesting, indeed.

We have some severe weather conditions "setting-up"
just before the largest sun spot (2192) comes
back around for the 2nd rotation--ready to pop off
some serious flares and CME's.
Solar activity is well-documented now, with the
"UhYen Weather Theory" in that an already intense
storm system can basically gain "extra juice" in
energy from in-bound solar flaring.

See:

Best to have a heads-up for both severe weather
events and quake up-ticks starting 11-12-2014
thru the next 12 to 14 days.
cheers
