WEATHER - Massive storm to slam Pacific Northwest - More intense than Sandy

Not just the northwest, but the whole fam damnily!

Typhoon Nuri, which was one of the two strongest storms on Earth so far this year, is going to help bring another shot of cold, Arctic air to the Midwest and East Coast later this week.

I like the end of the story - The Pacific Northwest will get a really nice weekend out of this with sunny skies Friday & Saturday and possibly Sunday. Temperatures will climb into the 60s Saturday.

well, my thermo says that it is 61 here - but it sure doesn't look or feel like it ... I just turned on the heat (it was warmer when I got up at dawn) because we have heavy (blue/grey) cloud coverage and it doesn't look like ti will get up to the predicted 68 degrees - but thank the gods, there is no wind ... btw I am on the Front range of the Rockies in CO

some serious flares and CME's.
Solar activity is well-documented now, with the
"UhYen Weather Theory" in that an already intense
storm system can basically gain "extra juice" in
energy from in-bound solar flaring.
