My neighbor lady thieves my plants. What to do?

Wow, I have the same issue. What race? I live in a neighborhood that has recently had a lot of Chinese move in (they are majority at this point). The old ladies are just freaking unbelievable over here -walking around with the little hand shovels so they can steal plants from the park, the other neighbors and the front of my house too. BTW, these are the same Chinese ladies who also dig in all of our recycling bins every week to steal all the aluminum and plastic out (but that's another story).
When I do yell at them, they do this thing where they put their hand up, smile and say "o, so sorri - no english" while they walk away but they always come back

I had to rethink what I grow in front of the house because it is so bad. No more bulbs or flowers. Now I have to think more like Jasmine or Bougainvillea, morning glory - just so that they can't dig it up.

These are shills now, coming out to try to make what I have said sound ridiculous. But I know the simplest things work for covert harrassments. They use all kinds of techniques. But the things that look and seem the most innocuous are often what can really fuck you up, so watch out. They will mix in different psych strategies, such as knowing you are a " good person" -- and counting on you giving her the benefit of the doubt and trying to be nice. If you are like that, then you are probably not aware enough to pay close attention to what is really going on. That is built in to the strategy.

The number one tips for you are:
1. The normal, decent rules of society do not apply
2. Do not confront the woman
3. Never do anything illegal, but you CAN do tricks that are legal to catch the fucks.

The upshot of being a victim is you become hyper vigilant and develop major trust issues. But if you figure things out, it will stop if they figure out that you figured it out. I outed some of the creeps that were bothering me by using Facebook but wouldn't recommend that, I do not EVER use Facebook now. It is a maze of traps. I was being watched by a little old lady realtor who was threatened by me because I recognized that she was violating the HOA by laws by scooping up all the deals in the complex for herself. I played stupid and broadcast on FB (in a happy, friendly tone) what a SUCCESSFUL realtor she was and how if you live in our complex you can count on her to sell your place. She doesn't bother me any more.

I could tell a million more stories about how I have stood my ground where I live, even until the visible signs of child abuse here finally disappeared.

What else is going on in your neighborhood? These child abuse/traffickers watch people in the hood who aren't a part of their operations and they will start in on you even if they only suspect, but don't have proof, that you know anything.

Put some parasites on a couple plants and leave them in a area where she can easily get to them

Plan A: Confront her about it. Try to work something out over a cup of tea

Plan B: Get the authorities involved.

Plan C: Secure your property with fencing.

Plan D: Move.

So, this happens all the time. Yesterday while I was gone to the store, she came over here with a shovel and dug up my brand new, blooming hibiscus! I walked over there this morning, and lo and behold, it is planted in her yard.

Any suggestions?

Motion detecting sprinklers. She wanders onto your yard she gets the hose. If she asks why your sprinklers are always on, no doubt having been thoroughly soaked several times, tell her you have a house guest who is CONVINCED you are being robbed and turns the sprinklers to deter intruders.

You could REALLY mess with her head and help her realize she is a theif without actually calling her one. Chances are she'd never want to meet this house guest, too afraid she might be identified.

I like to fight crazy with crazy.

Straight up--I would go over there with a shovel and dig up all of my plants.

And I would leave a note saying, "If you liked my hibiscus flowers so much, you should go purchase some of your own at [insert location here]." Thanks for playing.

PS: I have to keep my shovel inside my door, or else she would have it. Not that she NEEDS another shovel, but she would not be able to resist it.

Watch out! Exactly what they want you to do! If you can't prove that plant was yours, then you will be in the soup. If you think you can't sleep now, wait until she has the cops at your door. This type of little problem can escalate. I repeat, DO NOT ENGAGE other than taking video. You need definitive proof. Just because your bush disappeared and a bush appeared in her garden doesn't prove it was the same plant. You could even wind up being accused of moving the plant yourself just to fuck her up.

That is very strange. Obviously she has mental issues OP. No one could be that blatant.

She's a thief, damnit, and you're making excuses for her? It's a crime, yes. Stand up for yourself. Take control of your property. She knows you're weak, so she takes advantage. When my neighbors ask for a cutting, I always share. But they ASK, and I offer. Grow a set, lest you find yourself stripped bare one day.
