The three firefighters’ boots had “spontaneously combusted” when they came in contact with the white liquid from the vacuum truck, said Rick Macklin of the Ventura County Fire Department.

several yrs ago, a waste truck, chemical, accidently unloaded into another tank which had a reactive in it.. the first trucks contents weren't labeled properly..... several folks died instantly...

100% hydrogen peroxide is very nasty stuff as a liquid, very caustic, and very explosive, so much so it has been used as rocket fuel from time to time.

whiterabbit, that was the old G & H Landfill, out there on 23 Mile near Dequindre. The entire site is still fenced off. I am sure it is still monitored by the EPA. There were many concerns the toxins from there were going to leak into the Clinton River, adjacent to the site.

It sounds like a truck used to clean out septic tanks and then disposes the waste at the facility. So it could be anything. Most septic tanks in private homes are just toilet, shower, and kitchen waste water. But whatever it was obviously wasn't typical.
