But for the twenty years I have been watching the sun rise, I haven’t felt many changes.’ But twenty years is very little! There are some seeds that take centuries, maybe thousands of years, to bear fruit. In astrology, the influence of planets with a fast revolution such as Mercury, Venus and the Moon is brief and superficial. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto, however, revolve more slowly, and so their influence is more decisive, more profound. So there are some things you can obtain quickly: it takes a few years, for example, to acquire a career, a house, a husband or wife, children. But learning wisdom, love, patience and self-control takes a very long time, because these qualities, like the slow planets, have very wide ‘orbits’. So you must continue to be warmed by the sun’s rays for a long time – all the divine seeds will eventually grow. Never doubt that the sun is effective for your spiritual life.
