I have physically prepared as much as I can. Since I don't know what is going to happen my latest preparation is not physical but mental. I have decided to have a survivial mentality. That does not mean camo and weapons. It just means I will accept what happens, adjust my life as necessary and live life. My goal is the survival of myself and my family. Time will tell. I believe major adjustments will start shortly! |

Like many GLP'rs I have been 'awakening' to the reality for many years, but I would not call this year any different from the last few. Quoting: T_C Okay well this passage below may or may not apply to your personal circumstances but I'll just post it anyway because it describes a context in which a person may experience the similar feelings/sentiments that you alluded to: "As we are clearing these old programs by letting them emerge into consciousness, they are losing their emotional charge and are, in a sense, dying. But we are so identified with them that approaching the moment of the ego death feels like the end of our existence, or even like the end of the world. As frightening as this process is, it is actually very healing and transforming. However, paradoxically, while only a small step separates us from an experience of radical liberation, we have a sense of all-pervading anxiety with impending catastrophe of enormous proportions. What is actually dying in this process is the false ego that, up to this point in our life, we have mistaken for our true self. While we are losing all the reference points we know, we have no idea what is on the other side, or even if there is anything there at all. This fear tends to create enormous resistance to continue and complete the experience. As a result, without appropriate guidance many people can remain psychologically stuck in this problematic territory." - Stanislav Grof M.D. Wow...that is partly what is happening to me. Ego death...very interesting. I think in order to lose this false ego, it comes with age, if, at all. |

The Årtist User ID: 44124412 United States 11/21/2014 10:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ever since I was a kid I have had a feeling that the 2nd half of my life would be a completely different experience than the first half. I've had this sense that the would would be completely different. Economics, social interactions, the way we communicate, get entertainment, travel, and government. This feeling has always been that the difference would be drastic, a complete paradigm shift. As I've aged, now 38, I've come to call this feeling, "The Shift". My interpretation of this thing I call, "The Shift," is already playing out in our world. Today with the internet our shopping habits have already changed and will continue to change. The world is in transition economically. There will be no changing it. As we Shift to an economy where we pay with our devices, buy on the internet, and avoid things like sales tax and no longer supporting big box stores, things will change. For example. Walmart, Best Buy and tons of others have their own mobile payment option coming out to compete with Apple Pay, Google Wallet, and SoftCard NFC technologies. Those stores have shut off the NFC to force people into their version of mobile payment options. I will not shop at those places anymore, ever. I'm not the only one. Sure it's a little childish and it's not that I really support NFC over the other. What irritates me is these companies are shutting down choice in favor of something that benefits them, not the consumer. These companies that make the decision to cut the consumer out for their own benefit are going to see less and less support by everyone as better options are offered. The problem is these kinds of companies, like Comcast, have tons of money and can influence laws through lobbying. This will allow them to have laws passed that will protect their lagging business policies, technologies, and strategies. Take what iTunes and streaming music services has done to the music industries. We used to go to a music store and buy full albums, sometimes for only one or two songs, or we bought the released single. That shifted to the purchase of individual songs and it wrecked the industry traditional model. Now we've transitioned to streaming music services... killing music sales (down about 14% over the past year). This same kind of change is going to go through every other business model we know of. Brick and mortar stores are going to go away, period, there's no way around it. It may take 20 more years, but it's going to happen. People are going to "lose" jobs because retail is going to be gone with a few exceptions. Sure, you and I enjoy going somewhere to look around at products, but that's not the next generation, it will change. As we make this transition, traditionalists, are going to be upset because jobs are going away and businesses are going away. Those people and businesses losing are simply not keeping up with the trend lines. There will be a definite impact on our economy. Fast food will all be mechanized, very few employees and the employees they need won't be burger flippers, they'll be robotics and software engineers. Here's the catch, technology will be so advanced that those jobs will still be high school level things. The skills needed to maintain a burger flipping robot will eventually be common, low end, jobs. Our whole concept of getting good grades to get a loan to go into debt to get a college education to get a job we hate to buy a house and have 2.3 kids, and a white picket fence will disappear. That's NOT the American Dream. We are going to transition into a society where people are encouraged to follow their passions and do what they want with their life while technology handles the rest. Some people fear the youth will be a bunch of lazy oafs. Some will, most certainly. Most won't. As humans we have this inner drive to make something of ourselves, to feel good about our work and contribution to society. We've lost that in our current society. People are simply going to have to find something else to do. But when they do and they're pushed to do things they're passionate about we will see more innovation and growth than in today's world where we're strapped in jobs we hate and bound to some organization or corporation being in control with how fast and better we make our technology benefit people, not money. Here's the main problem... old ways die hard and do not like to give up and let go. There's going to be a fight. Instead of accepting "The Shift" these entrenched agencies, organizations, and corporations are going to do everything in their power to lock people into their outdated way of doing things. The people will only take it for so long. So we're left with two options to get on the other side of this transition. 1. The entrenched powers accepting the coming change and letting us glide into the future where their old ways and business models disappear. Or, 2. The entrenched powers hold on with a death grip and the people revolt. I have pretty much accepted we're going to experience #2. The people are going to have to rise up and revolt against the old ways and the entire system will have to be destroyed because they won't allow their control and power to be diminished without a fight. Something drastic is going to have to have to happen to force those organizations to change. That force could come from a world war, a revolution, a solar flare, whatever. Something will come along and destroy the old system allowing for the new one to take root. And, unfortunately, the more severe that destruction is, the better it will leave a lasting memory of why we should never go back to a system of greed, control, and corruption. But in the end, it's going to happen. We can complain about lost jobs, failing economy, corrupt government, greed, whatever all we want. It's going to change. It always has in the past and it will in our society. The best thing is to learn the trends and prepare for the changes. Some will make it, some will not. But seeing what the future is through trends will allow people to prepare for a future economy and way of life. RAGE |
