Long afterwards. Various cultures domesticated many animals. In Africa and parts of Asia bipedal birds of prey were used as mounts. In North America direwolves were used in packs during wartime as attack dogs.

In much similar way as Carthage animals were used to fulfill the role of heavy combat vehicles.
