Creed singer Scott Stapp says IRS froze his bank accounts and biological weapons "on the way" in FL

You know why? Seriously?

Music came back, rock came back. Pearl Jam was killing it, Pumpkins were making incredible albums, Rage against the Machine was amazing, Nirvana changed the landscape....these bands were full of anger and rage and great lyrics and things that were real and ideas. They were losers, nobodies, geeks, they were the not cool kids.

I remember opening those albums and listening to the songs, being excited to hear the new ideas and the amazing songs.

Then....a football jock dickwad and some of his cool kid friends decided to start a band in Florida. Ok, whatever. But what do they do? Do they come up with a style of music that is their own? Do they at least have their own sound and their own ideas? Nope. They write awful four chord rock songs, the guy does his best Eddie Vedder impression, which sucks, and they go to the tanning bed. They package it and sell it and capitalize on their looks and they write terrible meaningless lyrics written to sell albums, no meaning or intelligence behind them.

The labels go nuts and push them to the new generation and suddenly all the great bands are selling a few hundred thousand while Creeds commercial garbage is selling ten million. And they arent good. Ive seen cover bands do Creed better than Creed. They are commercial prepackaged garbage, and they led to a thousand clone bands doing the exact same thing. Mindless crap.

That is why they are so hated. Because they ruined it for everyone, including the artists they ripped off. And I know people in the industry, Stapp was the biggest arrogant douchbag on the scene for years.

Fuck Creed. Fuck them and all of that music.

I completely and totally disagree with you on Creed, but we all have our own opinions.

What I hated about Creed was simply their ubiquity... You heard them everywhere, all the time. The music was good.

Christianity is likely what drove him insane. I see it happen all the time. Psycho doctrines lead to psycho behavior. I really think the hate is about the blatant and over the top commericalism that they used. The whole lets take something really famous from guys with a shitload of talent, and then we will write some really cheesy songs using that formula with our mediocre skills, we will take some pics of us with our shirts off, and we will score babes and do blow.

The early 90's saw brilliance come back into rock. Then these guys just pissed all over it. And people saying I am envious, if I was going to envious it would be of someone who has mega talent, money and a great career. I AM envious of say, Billy Corgan, Eddie Vedder, Trent Reznor....and I love their music, and I respect them.

I am not envious of something or someone that I have no respect for.

I hate completely contrived and unoriginal commercialized music, it is my biggest pet peeve. Creed is a massive symbol of that.

Trent Reznor??? Every note of every one of his songs is computer generated. How is that original??? He just copied 80's new wave and added the F word every song. No accounting for taste I suppose.

Yeah, he does have obvious influences from The Crue and Depeche Mode...but he did his own thing and had his own sound.
