Even I wasn't sure about the supposed media blackout but my buddy did say that once the admissions officer said that, he heard the nurses talking about it in whispered voices. As someone who has been forced to sign NDA's myself as a term of employment, I know just how onerous they can be. While you may have the right to "free speech", you also have the right to sign a contract that allows for you to be sued into obvlivion, blackballed from whatever industry you work in, and end up pennyless and jobless if you exercise said "rights". |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 41313784 United States 11/30/2014 01:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A friend of mine was in a Chicago suburb hospital yesterday getting an X-Ray. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 32565066 He joked with the person working the admissions desk that he "was Liberian". The man immediately shot back "that's not funny, there was a man standing exactly where you are standing 2 days ago, recently back from Liberia, with extreme flu-like symptoms. He was sent to Rush Hospital (downtown Chicago) for further testing". My buddy, not having totally believed me in recent weeks when I told him there's a potential that the ebola czar simply implemented a media blackout, asks the man "does the news know about this?". The admissions agent replied "Oh god no". Well, 5 minutes later the agent came up to my buddy and said "I just received word that the patient has tested negative for ebola" as if the agent knew he had fucked up and was trying to backtrack from his previous statements. What's the chance that this lowly ER admissions officer would be informed of some patient no longer at his hospitals status and especially within the 5 or 10 minutes after telling my friend about him? Believe me or do not believe me. I was shocked when he told me too. But I do believe this is yet more evidence that ebola cases are still in this country and yet we are simply not hearing anything from the news due to the media blackout. Also, nurses have more than likely been forced to sign NDA's which not only make them at risk of losing their jobs should they blow the whistle but also opens them up to endless lawsuits which could leave them financially bankrupt. Remember, it is possible to make people keep secrets if the penalty for not doing so is the end of your life as you know it. Believe me, or do not believe me. I can offer no additional proof. But this definitely fits within the realm of possibilities. I believe you and thank you for the heads up. Stay safe. |

Quoting: NBCChicagoThose hospitals include Presence Resurrection Medical Center and Rush University Medical Center. Rush has already formed an Ebola task force, comprised of doctors, nurses and support staff that have volunteered to take care of any Ebola patients arriving at the hospital. It proves that Rush is one of two hospitals in Chicago that are designated to receive any suspected cases of Ebola. That's all I can prove because my buddy didn't illegally record the conversation with the ER admissions agent. (IL is a multi-party consent state in regards to video/audio recording). Thus I obviously can not provide "proof". But do you honestly think they would notify the news media if a suspected ebola case was sent to one of Chicago's ebola centers? Event the President has said that there will be additional cases in this country because they have refused to ban air travel from affected countries. Believe what you want. Since I know my buddy isn't lying, I'm simply hoping the guy DID NOT have ebola but simply a bad case of the flu and that him being sent to Rush was only out of an abundance of caution. |

Our Ebola czar is a spin doctor not a real doctor. Clearly, he has stopped all news as admitted by the AP(which they backtracked on when they got the wind of the public's disgust). Why bother with vaccine research at all when any disease can be cured by not reporting it? Now it is called fever/travel or mystery flu as was also proven by interception of NYFD communication. They were told not to say anything about possible Ebola suspects. Could Ebola be on the decline? I hope. Is Ebola om the decline? Who knows? |
