I saw a really cool movie TWICE (on telly) that hinted at, but did not directly say, THAT HE DID!!!

Lived to a ripe old age in Louisiana!

The movie was set during his exile on Elba, it was costing the British government a small fortune to maintain the garrison that kept him contained. He started becoming sick, & suspected the British were poisoning his food to accelerate his fate.

And quite a few patriots, based in, yep, USA, were often trying to free him. One scene showed a landing party that attempted to take him from Elba.

According to the movie, he totally betrayed this landing party by telling his British captors about the plan, which, as a result, was thwarted with some of the party being killed for their trouble. Nice way to pay back people who are trying to help you?!

Again, according to the movie, he used this & maybe other similar situations, to bargain with the Governor, he must have figured that if he escaped in that manner he would be hounded, eventually found & killed, so being the master strategist, he had a better plan.

The movie was very well done, hinting at the conspiracy, rather than directly stating it.

PS, regardless of what TPTB's propaganda have instilled in us, Napoleon's efforts stopped the European monarchy from regaining control after the French revolution.

The best deterrent force to contain Russia would be to replace the pathetically weak US president with real leadership.

No military buildup required.
