OKC Company Fesses Up To Meteor Spoof Video

Go to 5:27 in the video and tell me is the dash cam video fake as well?

I can only tell you that this company claims it is a fake and that they are responsible.

Well did they make the video that shows on the Dash Cam?

Seems a bit fishy like they told this company to do this to stop people from panicking.

People said they saw this thing all over Oklahoma and even in different states..

Yes, I heard a number of people claiming they saw it while I was waiting in line at the grocery store. I guess the cashier said she saw it and a few other people in line said that they had as well so they started comparing stories. This was the day after it was supposed to have happened.

I don't discount the possibility that there could be some funny business going on here. Their webpage did state that a lot of people were tying this to prophecy and extraterrestrial activity. You could very well be correct, I'm just sharing what is being reported.

Great minds think alike huh? More threads out there means more people will see it.

How to spot it was a fake.

Camera is filming with out trying to get object in frame, instead guy is running to a spot where the "meteor" is more hidden behind a tree not less.

Camera then goes up just the same second as the object starts to come around the tree.

Camera does not follow object.

You have a good eye and observational skills. I must admit that when I first saw the video I was fooled. What gets me is how many people claim to have seen the meteor with there own eyes.

So are we looking at mass hysteria, lying or as an above poster implied a cover up?

Personally I'm going with a gag that went to far and a few people with overactive imaginations. But then again, who knows.

Very good fake. Now more than ever, we cannot believe what we see on TV or on video. A very confusing world this will be for our posterity.

In all the Chelyabinsk meteor videos, there is a sharp shadow line on objects such as light poles

This shadow line is more distinct than a sun/shade line, and changes angle quickly as the object moves locally across the sky quickly

The above video "meteor" cast NO moving shadow on the lightpole or fire hydrant

Scary strange that there are people, like that astronomer, who claim to have seen it .

OP I’m voting people wanted to be part of something so they claimed they saw it also.

I’ll give a semi-famous example of this. In 1981 Len Barker of the Cleveland Indians Pitched a perfect baseball game to a crowd of just 6,298, basically an empty stadium. Yet today it’s hard to find a person who was not at that game! Every one and their mother seems to claim they saw it in person. By the stories told the entire city was in attendance.

You are right there. I live on the premise of question everything. I'm the type of person that craves knowledge to it works for me.

The world is very confusing but places like GLP give me hope that many people are seeing past that confusion into truth.

Excellent evaluation. We needed you in OK to debunk this a few weeks ago when this was going on. Yes, there are many people making claims of having been a witness. I've heard a few of their stories. I don't know if they are delusional, attention seekers or if there is more to this whole incident.

I think you are on to something there. What I find odd about things of this nature is the way people seem to become convinces by their own lie. I wonder how many people who claimed to be at the stadium began to believe it themselves.

An example for you, The Murrah Building bombing. There are several people that I've know a long time who I know were not in or around that building. Yet they made up stories of some kind of involvement at the time. I knew it was false but just let it go, I figured it was their way of dealing with a horrific situation that shocked us all. The issue is that through the years I've heard their stories repeated with more and more added to them. If you were to question one of these people today I truly believe they could pass a polygraph. It's amazing that the human mind can fool even itself.
