They didn't have to work to get their food....all was provided.
They didn't have to worry about defending their home....no natural predators.
The habitat could of housed more mice (up to 3000) but they became more concerned with individualization instead of society as whole.
Narcissists, sheep, dummies, violent trouble makers....they were all there.
Yes I'd say it's very similar to human society.
