Re: Principles for a Healthy Life
Procrastination is often the refuge of the perfectionist. Lower your ideals. While it may seem contrary to Peals's advice, try it. If you want to be an artist and your expectation of producing the perfect painting (that you imagine) but never pick up the brush and practice, your painting would never appear. Break down your desired outcome into smaller more attainable and reasonable goals.

Thinking that you are lazy is bad self-talk. So start the year with a positive affirmation. I am full of energy and absolutely rock at accomplishing my tasks.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 46317298

Procrastinators have ancient tribal blood of "sit and wait" hunters. They do nothing but sit and wait for game to walk by, then spear or club the game. It's in your blood to sit and do nothing but read GLP.

Re: Principles for a Healthy Life
I do a few things.

1) Eat a 100% anti-inflammatory diet. No exceptions on this, its the foundation of good health. This means eliminating gluten, dairy and most meats. Most all sugars and night shade based plants. Fish and eggs are ok, they absorb quickly and have essential fatty acids.

2) Exercise daily. This is important.

3) Take some key supplements such as zinc, vitamin D3 and B-12. Adding magnesium chloride skin rubs is good as well.

4) If over the age of 40, look into hormone replacement therapy. Sermorelin with GHRP 2 and / or 6 for both men and women. If you don't know what this is, look into it. It's crucial to a youthful and healthy anabolic state.

Sermorelin and the Growth Hormone Release Peptides (GHRP) stimulate the pituitary gland to produce growth hormone. It's self regulating by the endocrine system, so its 100% safe and VERY effective.

Do not under estimate the power of key hormones when it comes to vitality and health.

Our DNA is our potential. Hormones express that potential.

Do these things and a state of well being WILL be apart of your daily life.

Re: Principles for a Healthy Life
Our emotions are "verbally mediated". Which means that what we say to ourselves about people, situations, and events is what really determines how we "feel" about those people, situations, and events.

Self talk is not bs, it has a tremendous influence on outcomes, all other things being equal...
 Quoting: Thulsa

Quiet that mind!

I knew a guy once who really diligently worked on letting go, not worrying or obsessing, doing all the right things.

One day he realized it was quiet in his mind and he freaked out, he thought he was dying!

 Quoting: Sloane

Yes, that is so. It is very easy to be spiritual and loving when you are sitting in your living room reading all the right spiritual books and burning incense.

It is putting that love into action and actually responding to people with a kind heart, accepting them and caring about them that is the true test.

For a real workout on building the spiritual muscles go to Walmart and go through the store with that loving attitude. Go through the checkout line too. Smile when the person behind you runs the cart up over your heel. In your heart, say Bless You!

LOL

Seriously, though. Living the spiritual life, whatever path you are following, is not easy. But spiritual health is probably the most important of all.

Re: Principles for a Healthy Life
I found this link a few days ago, I thought it had some very good points on how to live a healthy, productive life. It's time for us, especially me, to strengthen our will~power and self~control. It is not easy, it takes practice. Something as trivial as stopping the thoughts that run through our mind daily can be difficult, and don't get me started on negative 'thought~loops'...lol...Personally, I struggle with procrastination, not wanting to take action immediately. I tend to self~justify 'why' I can't do *it* right now (I'm the worst with meditation). So I'm always looking for a small 'checklist' I can ask myself to see if I'm on the right track and this one fit the bill. Hope this helps someone as much as it did me.

Mr. Peel has also suggested following practical tips, which are very effective in improvement of talents for a progressive life:

(i) One should throw away the negative thoughts of pessimism and lack of confidence in the success of the work at hand.

(ii) One should cultivate the habit of self-analysis to know his qualities and potentials and also practice autosuggestion to strengthen the positive aspects.

(iii) Thinking should not remain confined to selfish affairs; one should also plan for other’s welfare and attempt materialization of the same.

(iv) God-gifted willpower and inner strength should be used creatively and cautiously to avoid the wastage and misuse of the mental and physical potentials and talents.

(v) Daily routine should be well planned - keeping in mind that every step in life should lead towards higher goals.

(vi) The energy and activities of mind should be oriented in a positive direction by creative thinking and adept learning.

(vii) One should practise linking the self with divinity every day and night - by way of prayers, meditation etc, as an integral part of life.

This cultivates inner strength and virtues to enable one to overcome all difficulties and adversities and even do what would appear impossible to many others in general.
Sincere adoption of above mentioned habits and suggestions protects waning and decay of inherited talents and transmutes one’s mental potentials to reach high realms of progressive life.

Here's my rules for longevity. I look late 30's and am mid 50's.

1. Eliminate carbs.
2. Exercise before breakfast. Then have a protein bar within 30 min.
3. Get sunlight even if it is artificial.
4. Live guilt free and do not take on unnecessary criticism
5. Associate with happy people and distance from complainers
6. Eat a home prepared dinner with real foods, not corporate crap. Supplement with micronutrient rich foods. All dinners must have different color foods.
7. Read. Don't watch TV. Read a lot.
8. Drink beer.
9. Get Laid regularly
10. Sleep 8hrs

I find time to meditate when I lay down to sleep for the night.

Only way I can find the peace needed, these days.

Another "best time" for me is when I wake up in the middle of the night for what ever reason.

At that time, your body is already well relaxed. At those times I can fall into a deep state rapidly.

I also notice the "hum" behind my eyes is MUCH slower. Like watching slow motion beach waves rolling in every direction.

Re: Principles for a Healthy Life
Easiest step to take to changing your life for the better starting today is to make new 'rules' for your life, write them down where you can see them daily, then live them.

I stick to a basic four:

*Be kind

*Be honest

*Always take the 'high road' in any given situation. (Be respectful even when angry)

*Lead by example and not by your mouth

^^this last one took me awhile to grasp...lol...

Seems pretty simple, eh? But if we're 100% honest with ourselves we will find we stay busy to avoid being honest with ourselves...slow down and ask yourself, "Why am I acting or thinking this way?" Try to get to the root of why your actions are not lining up with your thoughts.

Also, something I found by viewing myself in a deep state.

Our free will is in our hearts, not our brains.

It is really easy to see this when observe ourselves.

We, as people, are capable of seriously hurting the things we love the most. Simply because we may have been in a state of temporary anger.

We can also love things that we typically do not......one night stands, new products, money, etc.

The brain, the foundation of our thoughts come from our hearts. the brain is slick and it appears to have free will, but that is just an illusion.

By practice, altering your emotional state will drastically alter thought process.
