Jesus was UNABLE To perform any Miracles - Why?
This time in the bible it shows he was unable to perform miracles. Why?

---

Mark 6
A Prophet Without Honor
1Jesus left there and went to his hometown, accompanied by his disciples. 2When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed.

"Where did this man get these things?" they asked. "What's this wisdom that has been given him, that he even does miracles! 3Isn't this the carpenter? Isn't this Mary's son and the brother of James, Joseph,[a] Judas and Simon? Aren't his sisters here with us?" And they took offense at him.

4Jesus said to them, "Only in his hometown, among his relatives and in his own house is a prophet without honor." 5He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. 6And he was amazed at their lack of faith.

---

My take on it.

Was it because of their lack of faith? Does that mean that in order to be part of a miracle, we need others prayers and the person on the receiving end of the miracle(s) need to have faith?

I have seen miracles before. True miracles. It happens when you open up your heart and truly believe. If it is god's will you will be healed.

Therefore I think what Jesus was telling us over and over again was this.

---#1) Prayer - or (ask) You need prayer and positive intention. Almost like the law of attraction. Our thoughts are continually creating and destroying things depending on our thought alignmnet.

---#2) Faith - The person on the receiving end has to believe and open up their heart. To surrender to God's mercy. In other words the person has to have faith.

Example Luke 17

5The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!"

6He replied, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it will obey you.

In other words your faith will grow over time.

---#3) We must ask this through Christ to send the holy spirit to do his will. The holy spirit is the manifestation of God's will. It can enter any of us at any time and guide us, or help us. Ask for it through Jesus.

Eample - Luke 18

A Blind Beggar Receives His Sight
35As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. 36When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening. 37They told him, "Jesus of Nazareth is passing by."

38He called out, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"

39Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"

40Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him, 41"What do you want me to do for you?"
"Lord, I want to see," he replied.

42Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight; YOUR FAITH HAS HEALED YOU." 43Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.

---#4) Give thanks to God and Jesus for your healing. Believe positive things are already on the way. Because you are part of God's ultimate plan, and if you are worthy of healing you will receive it! If it does not come, thank him anyway, because he is giving you an opportunity to grow in spirit. Do no fret in your situation! Look forward with dignity and spirit! It will make you stronger!

Anyway that is my take on it. I was surprised to see that Jesus couldn't perform miracles. It seems there are 2 sides. The giving and the receiving.

Muhammad led a robber band of desert thugs who plundered, raped and murdered.

No prophecies announced the coming of Muhammad.

Muhammad did NO miracles and made only ONE vague prophecy about 7th century Romans.

Mohammad rarely showed any compassion and had all his detractors murdered. He was fond of splitting the spoils of war.

Muhammad himself was unsure if he would go to heaven. Allah often changed his mind to suit Muhammad's personal agenda.

"Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers, smite at their necks;" Qur'an (Koran) 47:4

Sura's 8:39; 9:5; 9:29: 47:4 in the Muslim Qur'an/Koran are their 'divine' commandments to persecute Jews and Christians, to defeat them in battle and then to consign them either to slavery or to death.

Jesus performed many miracles even raising people from the dead. It's Mohammed that didn't perform any miracles.

So your point is that Muhammed was not a saint?

I haven't seen anything from him that would prove he was holy at all. I really don't, even after reading about him and seeing films and such. I just don't get what they see in the guy.

I agree. I've made that point many times before.

Also in Judaism, you don't see miracles.

Jesus was the only one to perform miracles. He was sent by God himself.

Jesus wasn't able to perform miracles with the unbelievers, which means...you must believe.

I agree with your take on miracles. Faith is the key. The woman who touched His hem was ALREADY healed ... her faith and His Love healed her.

Performing miracles is FORBIDDEN by God. You can read that in early Christian Scripture.

To make Christianty more popular and to compete with the other 'superhero'Gods of the Mediteranean, miracles and the like were attributed to Christ and the Saints.

The miracles was proof of his divinity. If not for that anyone could say they were the son of God and how would you know who to believe.

In 2 Timothy it describes the people in the last days.

(2 Timothy 3:1-5 NIV) {1} But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. {2} People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, {3} without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, {4} treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God -- {5} having a form of godliness but denying its power

Note verse 5. They believe in God or a form of God but do not belive it posseses any power to do anything. In other words, they have NO faith.

Maybe it is DOUBLE-MINDEDNESS.

okay, on the one hand you have faith, but on the other hand, you dont believe it can happen.

So.... the weather man says it will be 110 degrees in your town tomorrow.

on the one hand you have faith to pray in Jesus' name that it wont be hotter than 85. But, on the other hand, you really believe the weather man.

so, the result, wishy-washy, you get nothing

Jam 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Jam 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
Jam 1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
Jam 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

You cant let the unbelief of others which is in the atmosphere cause you to have ANY DOUBT.

this suddenly made me think of one reason the two witnesses will be so powerful, because they will agree with each other 100% and that would over ride all unbelief in the atmosphere

Thats why I said you have to believe with all your heart.

Even then, Art Bell did some interesting experiments on the air asking people to use their intention and they were able to create rain in texas without any clouds there before. Out of the blue.

The mass consciousness is more powerful than you know.

Re: Jesus was UNABLE To perform any Miracles - Why?
jesus was what we would call a placebo

if you believe in him the possibilities are unlimited

he claimed to be god and man, the father and son...if someone did not believe then jesus was rendered ineffective

but if someone believed in him...all things became possible

he was a placebo...he was the human placebo

believe and you will see miracles...dont believe and he can do nothing for you

jesus was raised from birth to be a placebo

you need to understand how reality works...in order to understand that...what you believe is what you receive, and what you dont believe you wont receive

what you truly believe you will truly receive

it sounds simple, but it actually very deep

Re: Jesus was UNABLE To perform any Miracles - Why?
Jesus doesn't have a corner on miracles.

Buddha purportedly worked miracles. Most eastern religion/philosophy sages did.

Jesus was a man, like many other men before him, who realized his true self. Who died to his ego, which saved the world (only if you can do this, can you truly understand it). For whatever reason, miracles were possible "back then" in a way they have not been for a long time. Perhaps that's changing, though.

Anyway, he would have hated this religion created after him, although I'm sure he would see the need for it in some ways, as false as it is.

But he wouldn't have agreed that he's the only one capable of miracles. It's the antithesis of his message.
