Fascinating pictures ..the one is of a Pterodactyl..amazing..and the others are Pterosaurs of some type..not the bird i saw..but amazing none the less.
The bird i saw was more like the one link posted which showed like a super sized bird..it was grayish colored with maybe a little brown mixed in.

Yeah Kent, that Pteradactyl in the second photo is amazing...
and that is easily OVER a twenty foot wingspan!

And it has the pointy head just like the guy earlier in the thread, saw with his dad when they were walking through the woods here in Upstate NY !

Yup, they're still around in isolated patches here and there...
and since my friend saw MORE THAN ONE of them clustered in the field that day,
it's logical to conclude that they are BREEDING damned

126542, those links you provided would be relevant if she had been driving around through a Hollywood studio.
She was in the middle of a vast wilderness many many miles from ANY OTHER PEOPLE,
if you are implying that her sighting was someone flying around their remote controlled toy flying dinosaur !

Because I done same thing 20 year ago.
Okay, read this, and click on second link.

Some flying models resemble scaled down versions of piloted aircraft almost as much as static models do, while others are built with no intention of looking like piloted aircraft. There are also models of birds and flying dinosaurs. One company, Flying ThingZ of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, makes a line of rather whimsical models in addition to a lineup of conventional aircraft. Their more unusual offerings, produced from laser-cut corrugated plastic include a witch on a broomstick, a flying M1A2 Abrams tank, a flying race car and even a 2/3-scale flying lawnmower.

PTEROSAURS AS FLYING MODELS
The flying vertebrates which dominated the airspace of the Earth during the era of the dinosaurs have always been a source of fascination since the early times of paleontology. Even the classic authors like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle got their inspirations partly from the painstaking reconstructed art impressions of the paleontologists. Similarly, numerous artists created illustrations and sculptures reflecting the world of dinosaurs. The best examples of this work today are surely the paintings of John Sibbick and the famous sculptures of Stephen A. Czarkas.

The idea to build up a flyable model of a pterosaur was first realized by the zoologist and behavioral scientist Erich Hoist, This construction was a wing beat model based upon the known "artificial bird" mechanism and resembled the Rhamphorhynchus from Sollnhofen with a wingspan of 1.2m. It was made out of balsa, Japanese paper and incorporated a complicated rubber band power system.

On the occasion of the anniversary of the society of paleontology in Wilhelmshaven, this model fulfilled successful demonstration flights but only with a horizontal tailplane added. The false conclusion drawn, that the tail of Rhamphorhynchus had a horizontal elevator function, was disproved later when clearer fossilized remains were found.

Also well known to the modeler is the model Pterodactyl from the BBC television documentary "Pteranodon", from Steven Winkworth (FMT article - 1985). In this case, the pterosaur modeled was realized as a fixed-wing soarer with a tail-less airfoil, oversized vertical feet and added stabilizers under the femurs. This model flew very well over the slopes of Dorset. A smaller version of this soarer is available from the FMT plans service and is highly recommended. It looks a bit like a young pteranodon and flies very well in light lift. We've proved it!

The most ambitious project was the famous McCready experiment to construct a model of the largest known pterosaur "Quetzalcoatlus" as an RC flying model with half of the natural wingspan of 12m. The model ended up with a wingspan of 5.5m and was additionally controlled on all axes by gyros systems. Even more amazing was the wing beat powered flight which provided a spectacular introduction for several documentaries and even an IMAX film. Most of the flight experiments were performed in the desert landscapes of Death Valley. An unfortunate crash after a winched start ended this successful project of the 80's.

Another original idea is the Rhamphorhynchus model powered by two electric motors mounted in the claw section of the wing. The constructor, Fred Ludwig, introduced his model in FMT magazine (12/83). The layout seems to be a successful was to get a pterosaur in the air by electric power. We are sure that other interesting creations will be displayed in the future that will provide us with an opportunity to see RC flying creatures, extinct or alive.

To reiterate,
it was in a very remote spot, there were no other humans around for many many miles, other than her and her boyfriend,
furthermore,
she observed it RISING from the HUNCHED POSITION it had been resting in, and it flew right above where she was driving.

She got a VERY GOOD LOOK>

Additionally, there were a small GROUP of them, clustered around in the hunched position, resting together.

This was definitely not a mechanical flying contraption whatsoever.

I was searching throught the internet and found some rare photos of pterodactyls captured and it was a whole unit of American soldiers of the civil war era had a 10 meter wing span beast under their feet while they were possing in worn out photograph and other photos with one about the same size hanged from a tall tree.

I lost them due to HD format but there were around a ring of websites about the thunderbird indian natives are talking about.

He!

Dinosaurs used to rule the world. Robots will someday rule the universe. Robosaur is a programmable robotic dinosaur that's so intelligent we're beginning to think it might well be the result of some strange, Land That Time Forgot/Terminator-style temporal anomaly. Then again, it might not.

But let's forget about conjecture, because the fact is Robosaur is one astonishing, programmable RC dinosaur. Indeed he's truly (r)evolutionary and set to become as insanely popular as Robosapien. He is fully controllable and programmable by radio control but also fully autonomous in free-roam mode.

Unlike a real dinosaur Robosaur is no bird brain: multi-sensors allow this 32" bipedal beast to see, hear and feel the environment around him. He has multiple touch sensors in his head and tail, while sonic sensors detect sound and direction. He even has three distinct moods: hunter, cautious and playful. Go near his face when he's hunting and he'll behave aggressively; touch him when he's playful and he'll nuzzle your hand.

Click here to download a video of the Robosaur in action!

Possibly the most impressive thing about Robosaur is the way he walks in an incredibly lifelike predatory manner. We've heard of walking the dinosaur but this is ridiculous! In fact the first time we witnessed Robosaur's fluid biomechanical motion we half expected Raquel Welch to run out in her fuzzy britches and chuck a spear at him. It really is that realistic. Robosaur can even hold objects in his incredibly powerful jaws.

Robosaur is programmed and controlled via a sleek PlayStation-style joypad. Just like Robosapien the permutations of movement are endless and you'll be creating new sequences for Robosaur until the cows (or should that be mammoths) come home. Or until a huge radioactive asteroid smashes into our planet with catastrophic consequences.

Features:

- Fluid bi-pedal motion: walking, running and predatory gaits
- Realistic body movements: turning head and neck; whipping tail actions
- Three distinct moods: hunter, cautious and playful
- Autonomous environmental interaction: responds with mood specific behaviors and sounds
- Mood dependent behavior: aggressive/hunting mood; nervous/cautious mood; friendly/playful mood
- Multi-sensory: touch sensors in his tail, chin and mouth; sonic sensors
- Infra-red vision system detects objects in his path, or approaching him
- Powerful jaws that play tug-of war games, “bite” and pull
- “Laser” tracking technology: trace a path on the ground and he’ll follow it
- Visual and sonic guard mode
- Auto shut-off function
- Video game style controller
- Demonstration mode
- 40+ pre-programmed functions

126542,
your reading comprehension isn't up to snuff today is it ? Once again, here are the salient points from the original post:
***She had been driving for miles in a remote part of the Adirondack Mountains.
There was no store, house, campground, gas station, anything of the sort, within many MILES of where they were... remote, get it, no people, no flying toy enthusiasts.
***She SLOWED DOWN the veichle as she saw a group if what she believed to be monolith type standing stones,
clustered in a field she was approaching,
these were not a group of birds in flight following a mechanical bird, as you suggested,
they were all ON THE GROUND RESTING TOGETHER IN A GROUP,
as she drew nearer,
one of them, ROSE UP WITH OUT STRETCHED WINGS and flew ABOVE HER CAR <<<<

Using her car as a gauge to measure length against, this BIRD CREATURE flying DIRECTLY OVER HER,
she estimated to have a 26 Foot wingspan.

There is no case of mistaken identity here,
she saw it sitting with the other members of its tribe,
and she also saw it rise up and take flight.

This was definitely NOT AN AIRCRAFT >

Period .

Have you even bothered to read any of the links of supporting evidence here, or did you just come in with your set agenda?
Or do you suffer from severe mental blocks?

She didn't see a robot.
She saw a GROUP of Pteradactyls, and as she drew nearer, one of them took flight.
Obviously it's a fact that they exist in remote places.
Also obvious is that you have trouble comprehending that.

It is NOT a queston of free will.

What is Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)?

A borderline writes:
"Being a borderline feels like eternal hell. Nothing less. Pain, anger, confusion, hurt, never knowing how I'm gonna feel from one minute to the next. Hurting because I hurt those who I love. Feeling misunderstood. Analyzing everything. Nothing gives me pleasure. Once in a great while I will get "too happy" and then anxious because of that. Then I self-medicate with alcohol. Then I physically hurt myself. Then I feel guilty because of that. Shame. Wanting to die but not being able to kill myself because I'd feel too much guilt for those I'd hurt, and then feeling angry about that so I cut myself or O.D. to make all the feelings go away. Stress!"

Therapists use a book called "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual" (DSM) to make mental health diagnoses. They've outlined nine traits that borderlines seem to have in common; the presence of five or more of them may indicate BPD.

However, please note the following:

*

Everyone has all these traits to a certain extent. Especially teenagers. These traits must be long-standing (lasting years) and persistent. And they must be intense.
*

Be very careful about diagnosing yourself or others. In fact, don't do it. Top researchers guide patients through several days of testing before they make a diagnosis. Don't make your own diagnosis on the basis of a WWW site or a book!
*

Many people who have BPD also have other concerns, such as depression, eating disorders, substance abuse — even multiple personality disorder or attention deficit disorder. It can be difficult to isolate what is BPD and what might be something else. Again, you need to talk to a qualified professional.

DSM-IV Definition of BPD

1.

A pervasive pattern of instability of interpersonal relationships, self-image, and affects, and marked impulsivity beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:
2.

Frantic efforts to avoid real or imagined abandonment. Note: Do not include suicidal or self-mutilating behavior covered in (5).
3.

A pattern of unstable and intense interpersonal relationships characterized by alternating between extremes of idealization and devaluation. This is called "splitting."

Following is a definition of splitting from the book I Hate You, Don't Leave Me by Jerry Kreisman, M.D. From page 10:

The world of a BP, like that of a child, is split into heroes and villains. A child emotionally, the BP cannot tolerate human inconsistencies and ambiguities; he cannot reconcile anther is good and bad qualities into a constant coherent understanding of another person. At any particular moment, one is either Good or EVIL. There is no in-between; no gray area....people are idolized one day; totally devalued and dismissed the next.

Normal people are ambivalent and can experience two contradictory states atone time; BPs shift back and forth, entirely unaware of one feeling state while in the other.

When the idealized person finally disappoints (as we all do, sooner or later) the borderline must drastically restructure his one-dimensional conceptionalization. Either the idol is banished to the dungeon, or the borderline banishes himself in other to preserve the all-good image of the other person.

Splitting is intended to shield the BP from a barrage of contradictory feelings and images and from the anxiety of trying to reconcile those images. But splitting often achieves the opposite effect. The frays in the BP's personality become rips, and the sense of his own identity and the identity of others shifts even more dramatically and frequently.

4.

Identity disturbance: markedly and persistently unstable self-image or sense of self.
5.

Impulsivity in at least two areas that are potentially self-damaging (e.g., spending, sex, substance abuse, reckless driving, binge eating). Note: Do not include suicidal or self-mutilating behavior covered in (5).
6.

Recurrent suicidal behavior, gestures, or threats, or self-mutilating behavior.
7.

Affective instability due to a marked reactivity of mood (e.g., intense episodic dysphoria, irritability, or anxiety usually lasting a few hours and only rarely more than a few days).
8.

Chronic feelings of emptiness.
9.

Inappropriate, intense anger or difficulty controlling anger (e.g., frequent displays of temper, constant anger, recurrent physical fights).
10.

Transient, stress-related paranoid ideation or severe dissociative symptoms.

Dissociation is the state in which, on some level or another, one becomes somewhat removed from "reality," whether this be daydreaming, performing actions without being fully connected to their performance ("running on automatic"), or other, more disconnected actions. It is the opposite of "association" and involves the lack of association, usually of one's identity, with the rest of the world.

There is no "pure" BPD; it coexists with other illnesses. These are the most common. BPD may coexist with:

*

Post traumatic stress disorder
*

Mood disorders
*

Panic/anxiety disorders
*

Substance abuse (54% of BPs also have a problem with substance abuse)
*

Gender identity disorder
*

Attention deficit disorder
*

Eating disorders
*

Multiple personality disorder
*

Obsessive-compulsive disorder

Statistics about BPD

BPs comprise:

*

2% of the general population
*

10% of all mental health outpatients
*

20% of psychiatric inpatients
*

75% of those diagnosed are women
*

75% have been physically or sexually abused
