Don't worry, Israel wants Joe in, in the last few precincts that check in the swing will be in Joe's favor and he will win by 2%.

If Leiberman loses, he can run as Independent where he could gain more voters, especially Republican voters.

My friend and I once discussed about a persistent rumor within the Dept of Defense that Bush would force Rumsfeld to resign and get Leiberman to take Rumsfeld's place as SecDef.

I think Bush's offering is still on the table for Leiberman, pending the election's outcome in November.

I'm hoping it will send a message to the DLC Democrats that backbone is in fashion this season.

Today, had to ask myself if Joe Lieberman is being advised by Karl Rove.

In the book, 'Bush’s Brain,' the case is clearly made that Karl Rove,
on the eve of a Texas election, claimed that someone had broken into his office
& placed a bug, which was found. Of course, the media had a field day with this.
The last minute negative publicity turned the tide for his candidate... even though,
as the book claims, it was later found that it could have been Rove himself who
had placed the bug as a last desperate effort. Regardless, it worked!

Is it possible that Lieberman, behind in the polls, could have pulled the same
underhanded ploy? The media, especially Hardball’s Chris Matthews, seems to
have bitten hard.

The fact that Joe Lieberman is willing to destroy his party’s victory in the
general election by running as an independent if he loses, thus splitting
the Democratic vote, only shows that he puts himself ahead of his party,
& that he may be even more of a Republican than he otherwise seems.
