Quoting: N3m3s1s Interesting theory, routing web traffic by user profile would allow the least sharing of opinion amongst different subgroups of people. Well ... I am compiling proof right now. I gave some thoughts already -- like the same people on MarketWatch comment on other sites pretty much regurgitating the same thing over and over. There are more than 8,000 brokers in NYC alone. What about everyone else? |

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory mentioned, which states that this has already happened. |

There are movies about that ... remember Clue? So I'm like Tim Curry the butler. No! I don't have a secret agenda! Sort of like him, but not really. Except that is a bunch of people playing the same game and this would be a bunch of people visiting, (what they think) are websites of their own choosing. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 65940913 Except that is a bunch of people playing the same game and this would be a bunch of people visiting, (what they think) are websites of their own choosing. Sort of ... except the "game" is our perception of reality, which carries over into the real world. And we are unknowing participants believing we are not in a game. But we really are. Then that molds our real reality. The only "conflicts" that arise in reality might simply be between people in different electronic FEMA camps.oh wait ... that is really trippy. Just a theory though for now. No proof. As far as the servers, I do not know. It could be a bunch of servers linked together or one GIANT server in the secret facility in Utah which all the people are pissed because they use so damn much water (Utah is pretty arid -- you cannot drink the water in Salt Lake because it is salty and smells fucking NASTY like dead fish). Just hypothesizing on that one. |

We as humans have become so lame, no one except 8,000 people or so have original thoughts and everyone else is a total tard. Spooky, if you think about it. Think about it: billions of people who have only a handful of thoughts." It is more likely that a handful of people SHARE THESE sorts of thoughts, as opposed to the latest fashion that the Kardashians,(or other such celebrity tards), are wearing or topics we don't care about. Most of us here are also on political news sites and other conspiracy sites. I'm pretty sure many people here are not on People magazine type sites or other petty bs forums. We stick together because we tend to think alike. Nothing magical about it, we just think alike. Great minds and all that...Come to think of it, you might be right, maybe the planet is populated by billions of shallow tards. ;) |

DominoDominicci User ID: 66036985 United States 12/26/2014 12:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | like the same people on MarketWatch comment on other sites pretty much regurgitating the same thing over and over. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 66388996 Here's the thing: if we can think of the internet as a vast reservoir of information and opinion, we might also conclude that people are coming to similar conclusions. For example, "The wealthy elites want to control us". We read variations of this comment all the time. But while you might characterize this as "regurgitating" the same thing over and over, I see it as common sense taking hold. Because, using my example, how many alternative views are there, really? One alternative view might be that wealthy elites do NOT want to control us. Another alternative might be that some wealthy elites want to control us while others don't. And so forth. But here's the thing: The closer we get to "the truth", the fewer alternatives exist. The Internet, used wisely, can act as a nitrous boost for those seeking the truth. As they get closer and closer to that truth, they also gain greater clarity and understanding. Stated another way, how many alternate opinions about the color of the sky do you really expect? On a normal, sunny, cloudless day, the sky is invariably blue, and people are going to SAY that it's blue in one way or another. What we're experiencing now is the awakening of a multitude who were once blind and had never seen the sky before. Astonished by its beauty, they point upward and exclaim: "Look at it! What a remarkable color that is!" Do you see? Multitudes are coming face to face with "the truth" (whatever that truth may be) for the very first time in their lives. They "regurgitate" it because they want to share the experience, convince others of this or that, or because they're just mesmerized by the novelty of the thing. To be more specific, this forum is experiencing an up-surge of anti-black rhetoric because of the riots, etc. How many conclusions can people, watching current events, really come to? Either "blacks are bad", "cops are bad," "cops and blacks are both bad" or "nobody is bad and we're all merely pieces of God experiencing our own nature on the mortal plane". Not much more you can say about current events, which is why so many comments seem to be the same. For my own part, I'm of the "blacks are bad" camp. Do I believe, being of this opinion, that the things I read and write are being filtered into a server dedicated to that opinion, while others are being routed elsewhere? It's a cool idea, but in reality---and to sum up this long message---I think it's just a simple matter of there being few alternative views on any given subject. And the closer we get to an ultimate truth (for instance: "Blacks have an average IQ of 85, low IQ equates to higher rates of violence, therefore blacks are more violent), the more people who will get on board and regurgitate the same thing. That's what we're seeing on GLP and elsewhere. |
