I kept the promise till the vow got broke
I had to drink from the lovin' cup
I stood on the banks till the river rose up
I saw the bride in her wedding gown
I was in the house when the house burned down

Re: What's the craziest, weirdest, strangest, unbelievable thing you ever seen?
in the 80's! While riding my bike at around 9pm at night (9 years old) a very dark figure was walking towards me. As I got closer (I had to pass him or it) a long thick chain fell from his hands and he swung it around his head like whip. I ducked at the last second and felt the chain brush over my hair. I put on the gas and rode like hell out of there.

Freaked me out.

Later in life I witnessed with four others a very large (massive) cylindrical UFO. It was on a farm in Austrailia. We were hanging about by a fire. I spotted the thing while taking a leak away from the fire. I alerted the group. We watched it for 5-8 min while it came slid into full view from the north and slipped over the horizon to the south. It passed directly above us. It turned very slowly horizontally 180deg. No lights on the ufo, but a full moon allowed for a pretty clear view. All of us agreed perfectly on what we saw. Considering that it disappeared as it went toward the horizon leads me to think that it may have been very high in the atmosphere if not just beyond the atmosphere, though that would make it so massive as to defy the imagination. I don't know. If was low in the atmosphere then its fade over the horizon would be like a cloaking device slowly cloaking.

Best UFO sighting I ever had.

Re: What's the craziest, weirdest, strangest, unbelievable thing you ever seen?
About 15 years ago, I visited my grandmother and stayed overnight in her guest bedroom. Along with a couple other books, I'd brought Crowley's 'Book of Thoth' with me to read. I was up late reading it and finally got tired enough to sleep. I sat up on the edge of the bed with the book closed on my lap, with the back cover facing up.

:bookofthoth:

Before reaching over to turn off the lamp, I stared off into space thinking about what I'd read and how it fits into the big picture. Within a minute or so, I heard my grandmother, who had been sleeping in her bedroom on the other side of the wall, scream out in her sleep.

I quickly got up to see what was the matter. I opened the door to her room and said, "Grandma, are you all right?!" She woke up shaken. She said that she was having a terrible dream about a scary man standing over her at the end of her bed. She said he looked very strange with an unusual face and a stick in his hand. As she dismissed it as just a dream and went back to sleep, I returned to the guest bedroom with the following expression on my face and thinking: "HOOOOOOOLY SHIT!"

 Quoting: AkashicRecord

I was simply reading the book. Honestly, I gave no thought to any 'guys' or 'handling' any 'guys'. My perspective was: Crowley produced these updated cards which are originally attributed to Thoth, which correspond to colors, Hebrew letters, angels, planets, zodiacal constellations, Kabbalistic tree of life, and are supposed to give oracular insight to inquirers. I half-thought it was all a bunch of nonsense and why would anyone bother wasting time on it? So, for my grandmother to actually see in the dream state Thoth himself standing over her on account of me naively reading and meditating on that book in the next room was a complete and utter surprise. Fallen angels and evil spirits can kiss my Lord Yeshuah the Annointed lovin' ass.

One time I was already in bed, but I left my gamecube on. It was cold and I really didn't wanna get out from under the covers to turn it off. There was a pencil within arm's reach so I decided I would try to throw it at the gamecube to to in off. I really didn't think this would work and was just messing around.

I was probably 20 feet away, laying down, and I through the pencil at the gamecube. The eraser end hit the power button perfectly and the gamecube turned off. I was just floored and I even got up out of bed and went over to the gamecube to make sure what I was seeing actually happened. I could not believe it. I've tried to do that a few times since, and I come nowhere close to hitting the power button.

A 600Lb Astral Spider paid me a visit one night. I woke up to see him clinging to the ceiling above me. He was startled that I awoke at that time. It had the exact same eyes as the Greys have, long almonds. We stared at eachother, it shifted and I heard the lethery exterior taunt its self.
It faded from view.

I have seen so many off things ..

I saw a fleet of ufos in 07 over Stratford

When I worked in the er after one person I saw pass I was sad, standing back and saw a black mist come up off his body ..

Not so odd, but I gave a kid hit by a car CPR and watched him leave and horrific things that come before it .. But like I said not so off just a crazy thing to experience

I have seen a lot of other side type stuff .. But the most specific was a lil black and white girl like static with everything but feet walk by me ..

So much .. Crazy life it is

Re: What's the craziest, weirdest, strangest, unbelievable thing you ever seen?
So, there was this road that allegedly had this mysterious light that would appear....

So, I had a couple of buddies who knew the spot -- it was an old legend, but few knew the actual location -- and they would always put off taking me or going themselves.

Finally, one night, I convinced them.

We brought the camcorder.

We drive down this old logging trail. park. "Just wait they tell me".

So, we sit there waiting for like half an hour... smoking cigarettes... screwing with the stereo and camcorder... telling stupid jokes. All the while, the driver -- the guy who was really hesitant about going, and kept soberly facing forward the entire time -- said "That's it.".

"Huh?" Where?

"There, up ahead".

I looked down the pitch-black road and actually saw a light.

I was like "get the hell out of here, that's just an oncoming car or something."

The driver just keeps staring forward.

The other guy -- with the camcorder -- said "that's it man".

"No-way" I thought, but now I was the odd man out -- and the only person who hadn't witnessed this before -- so.. I stared at the light.

after a moment of hovering, apparently down the road, its starts coming closer, sort of growing in size and brightness, but not in terms of eye-strain the way a light-bulb would.

Then it was coming right upon the truck.

The driver went to crank the truck up; "we're getting out of here" he said.

"No" I said. "Wait".

I asked the other passenger "are you filming this?" He said he was, and I saw the camcorder running, red-light and everything.

Now the light was right up at the windshield. Floating. Bright like a lantern or halogen bulb (that quality) but not strenuous to gaze upon. It was about the size of a baseball.

At this point, everyone could tell that we were having "an experience" so nobody was trying to screech out of there or roll the windows up. The pleasant but overwhelming curiosity had taken us over.

Just then, in a flash, the light dashed into the cab of the pick-up, I saw it dance around the cab, and in the faces of my companions. It was, obviously, a fairy. Not too far off from what you would imagine tinkerbell would look like in real-life.

But, as it was dashing around, mesmerizing, my inquisitive mind kept studying it, being rationally critical of what I was seeing. It was, in fact, like a very large insect that radiated a very intense but peculiar light, but could also appear humanoid of form.

After who knows how long, the dashing and flashing stopped, and we were all sitting in silence. In darkness now.
The driver said "let's go".

I conceded, and the rest of the ride home was full of discussions like "Holy shit! What was that thing?! An actual Fairy? Wholly shit dude? Is this like fantasia or something? What the hell!?".

It wasn't until the next day that we remembered that we video-taped the event -- up-close and personal -- and would be able to share this with others.

And, I know this is going to make it sound like the entire story was horse-shit -- I assure you though, it was not -- but the video went straight to recording static (snow) at the very instant the driver said "There it is".

No lie.

GLP -- first online place I've ever shared this story.

By any chance, was this in Missouri? There was the same thing going on there several years ago.
 Quoting: ERE3

If it was the Hornet Spook light that you are talking about, my husband and I drove out to the area and tried to see it ourselves. We did think we saw it that night, but only at a distance. We were hoping for a more up close and personal experience.

YES! That's it. I went there, once, too! I had about the same experience you did and never went back.
 Quoting: ERE3

Nope.

This was near the border of North and South Carolina.
My buddy who believed he was video-taping the event also saw "the brown mountain lights" on numerous occasions -- lot of luck with "lights", that one -- but I wasn't there for that one.

Also, agreeing with others on the awesomeness of this thread :^)

I've got more to share, but right now I'm just enjoying reading everyone else's stories.

 Quoting: Daughter

If by "glow" you mean "its light did not illuminate other objects", I really couldn't tell as it was pitch black outside, in the middle of an open road.. Well, I guess even a match in that scenario would illuminate the surrounding trees some, but I don't recall it doing so.. maybe not.. not sure.

I don't recall about zig-zaging outside of the truck, but at first it appeared to be a lot farther away than it actualy was -- I thought it was a distant head-light of an oncoming car -- but it never got too much bigger. i.e. it pretty well originated right in front of us but took what seemed like a really long time to just inch forward -- further enabling the perception that it was a very far away on coming headlight.

However, once it entered the vehicle it was zipping all around us. It was a bit entrancing. I remember the ambient space taking on a sort of pink-tone closer to the entity, and sort of purplish to green farther away -- the central light remaining golden-sparkly-white though.

It was a trip.
