if thats a real story you must be thinking about that from time to time for the rest of your life. thats so weird!!!
like you said. what was your mind thinking when it did that? also if a mind can do that.. wtf. what else has it done? how real is everything around you at all?! lol
wait till you wake up one day (what well call dieing) and theres a guy handing you a sigarette like "youve been in a come for 2 years, do you rememeber anything from before?"

The mind is a powerful thing for sure. This reality could be easily as fake, as you say. Mindfuck 101  When the guy disappeared, did you still have the cig? No! But i did look for it thoroughly and ended up feeling like i was going mad looking for something i knew wasnt there. I would have looked, too! That would have been really freaky.
