OMG. PLEASE help my itching!!!!
For the couple months, I have been a little itchy. It's progressed to EXTREME itchiness!! I have scratches and bruises from the unrelenting need to scratch.

No bugs! I also don't have dry skin. I've tried: baby oil after showers, oatmeal bath, tons of unscented lotion and cream, cooler showers, Benedryl, calamine, Benedryl lotion, coconut oil, olive oil.

When I step into a super hot shower, the water stings but feels like someone is giving my skin a good scratching...problem is that I get INTENSE itching afterwards. I live in a super cold climate, but there's no dry, flaky skin. Everywhere from my head to my toes itches.

HELP!! I get panicky sometimes with how bad it itches and I sometimes want to take a wire brush to relieve it (no worries, I never do!).

Try Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar - it works for tons of stuff, and can't hurt.

Also - it might be a food allergy - possibly dairy - try giving that up for a couple of weeks and see if it helps.

Good luck!

It's either a medication you're taking (or something like that), or it's something in your environment.

How about detergents, and other soaps? Switched to anything new lately?

You need to examine what has changed in your environment (or anything you're consuming) during the time your symptoms have manifested.

Sounds like liver damage. I would go get a liver profile blood test done ASAP or go to a doctor.

Symptoms of liver damage include itching throughout body and bruising.

Are you a drug user or heavy drinker or do you take lots of tylenol (or frequent but in combination with drugs and alcohol)?

Get it checked out ASAP.

This. New fabric softener maybe? Also, you may not think you have dry skin, but try applying moisturizer after your shower. That will tell you a lot.

Wait, the itching is a above the belt right? If not, use Tinactin.

Re: OMG. PLEASE help my itching!!!!
Super hot showers are really bad for itchy skin. Makes it worse, a few minutes after you get out and dry off.

You could try putting the oil on while you are still in the shower, after soap.
I do that sometimes when my skin gets dry and itchy. I use coconut oil.
I usually dump a few capfuls of Apple cider vinegar over my head and shoulders after washing my hair. That helps sometimes too.

You are being killed by synthetic sweeteners.

Nutrasweet, any of the yellow or pink packets.

Stop them and it will go away in 4-5 days.

Sugar or honey only.

If you dont stop your throat will swell shut and you will die.

Correct. Seeing no bugs means nothing, as scabies lives beneath the skin. Worth a check up with the Dr. to at least eliminate scabies. Mr. Obvious might be on to something as well.

^^^ this ... I've found most of the time skin irrigation is due to laundry soap, fabric softeners, ect. A lot of time people add too much laundry soap to the wash

I vote for scabies. Extreme itching whereas allergies usually not quite that intense.

get yourself a tube of hydro cortizone (1% will do) - it's a steroid so if you are still reproductive, you may want to research it - but it stops itching of all kinds upon application ... at least it does for me and I tried EVERYTHING else ... including putting baking soda in my bath water

Re: OMG. PLEASE help my itching!!!!
we treated with farm supply version but recommend prescription to get dosage right or it might cause more problems to brain/nervous system if it's too strong

my husband went to clinic and it was misdiagnosed so we treated anyway. the itching was insane and no insurance

after the treatment you will have residual itching while your skin heals that takes a while

Sounds like poison ivy. But in a 'super cold climate', there won't be any poison ivy, so perhaps a similar species of poisonous plant.

Try Finnish sauna, a hot and long one.
If it is skin related, it will be gone after that.
At least you can cross one thing off your list if it continues.
