What is the best Prepper food for long term storage in your opinion?

But how do you store them? Soak eggs in mineral oil and they last for 20 years without refrigeration.

Do you make containers stuffed with similar food stuffs or package meals? If you package meals what are they?

Mylar bags. You can seal em up and they will last 20-30 years.

Where do you find mylar bags? I know you have to get rid of the oxygen in the bags as well. I've heard you can buy oxygen absorbents, but heard you can use hand warmers and they work just as well.

Rice and dried beans. Carbohydrates and protein . All you need to survive . And if you have them stored in a air tight dry storage they have vietually no shelf life and will last forever.

And best of all put a bit of each in your hand gulp it down and youll be full in 20 mins. No cooking required. Would it taste good like that ? No but you'll have a sustainable source of food that will last forever if stored right.

Also..if ya want condensed calories WITH vitamins..get somw dark raw sugar and melt it into toffee blocks.

Add some nuts for protein.

I plan on eating better than that. I have storage items, what I don't have is a system for packaging them. I have like items with like items. How would you package a 20 gallon container? I have 8 sterno cans in each container, but how do I divvy up the rest?

Thanks, I have learned that hand warmers work the same same as commercial O2 absorbers and are even cheaper.

They're dried when you buy them. The large tubs are the preservation method, slick. You just have to keep the rice and beans dry and vermin-proof.

Do you freeze them first to get rid of bugs?

I think thats why merkans dont include fat in their preps..they dont need to as each one of them carries enough blubber to last em at least 40 years.

How the FUCK they actually expected to survive was beyond me.

At the end of the day..no matter HOW you prep or what guns n shit ya have..the ONLY thing that will save your live when the rubber meets the road is what you can CARRY in your two hands at a dead run.

And going by the looks of most merkans I dont think they could run more than two steps without their guts wobbl;ing up and knocking them out..let alone CARRY anything whilst trying.

Gonna be funny watching them wobble their way to death.
