As an experiment I decided to unplug the cat heating pad which is fairly new. The noise stopped. The cat jumped on my bed in the morning and nipped me 6 times, almost biting me. Button has arthritis and has been using the pad. The next day I plugged it in and she didn't get off of it all day. Thanks allyas!  cosequin works great for the cats. I get it from amazon. Also helps with their joints. I'll check that out, thanks!
