OP, my mother (not my uncle!) told me that a lot of government people are Opus Dei, especially in Homeland Security. She's been in politics a long time and many are personal friends, so she had no reason to 'sniff out' the information; it was simply there, a detail of their lives. Our family is Catholic, so I've no axe to grind here.
