Gasoline for $1.399/gallon
Proof (as of Monday 1:45 AM): [link to www.indianagasprices.com]

Yes, you do have to pay with a gift card from the adjacent supermarket/discount store (the one everyone loves to hate) to get the 3¢/gallon discount. But I don't think anybody's going to complain too loudly even if they paid the posted 1.429 price.

In Indianapolis, the price is about 25¢ higher, so it appears that we're enjoying something of a price war. But even 1.65 is a price I didn't think I'd ever see again. In late 2008/early 2009, the price dipped a little below $2 a gallon for a short time, and I remember being pretty happy about it, having suffered through $4+ prices for the first time earlier in 2008. I don't think we've seen 1.39, though, since September, 2001.

It won't last long, and the smart people are telling us that it could rebound to new heights, once the higher-cost producers exit the market. Maybe, maybe not. I don't think anyone's crystal ball knows for sure. As far as I'm concerned, anything below $2 a gallon would be great.

And today it's 2.109 at the same station.

That was in January. The price of gasoline has fluctuated since then, of course, but it's generally been at least $1 cheaper per gallon than it'd been a year before. To me, that is a good thing, although if your livelihood hinges on overpriced fuel, you may not be prospering.

But right now, the price here is $1.319. If I remember right, that's about the price that I was paying on September 10, 2001.

Connecting dots gives a distorted image. Some dots connect other don't and you have to know which ones go where and in what order to get a clearer picture. Just because the price of fuel is similar doesn't mean another huge psyop is going to happen soon.

Nice that you noticed though and brought it to our attention just in case.

There is at least a years worth of glut and OPEC and other countries are still producing. But I do agree, once it does go up.....butt hurt will follow.

Whaaatt? It's still about $2.10 here in Buffalo!!!
People who are intimidated by you talk bad about you with hopes that others won't find you so appealing.

Rubatosis - n. the unsettling awareness of your own heartbeat, whose tenuous muscular throbbing feels less like a metronome than a nervous ditty your heart is tapping to itself, the kind that people compulsively hum or sing while walking in complete darkness, as if to casually remind the outside world, Iím here, Iím here, Iím here.

The jealous are troublesome to others, but a torment to themselves. ~ William Penn

I understood myself only after I destroyed myself. And only in the process of fixing myself, did I know who I truly was.

Revenge is not in my plans. You'll fuck yourself on your own.
